LOW Festival
The LOW Festival (also known as LOW Holland-Flamand Kultfeszt) was a multidisciplinary contemporary cultural festival held in Hungary in the cities Budapest and Pécs from 15 February till 12 March 2008. The name of the festival alludes to the Low Countries, the region encompassing the Netherlands and Flanders. The aim of the festival was to get the Hungarian audience acquainted with contemporary Dutch and Flemish culture. Besides this the festival's goal was to establish a sustainable cooperation between Dutch, Flemish and Hungarian organisations and artists. The LOW Festival brought a wide variety of Dutch and Flemish visual arts, design, performing arts, feature films, documentaries, contemporary, classical, jazz and pop music to Hungary. Rudas Baths
Rudas Bath or Rudas fürdő is a thermal bath in Budapest, Hungary which is claimed to have medicinal properties. It was first built in 1550, during the time of Ottoman rule. To date, it retains many of the key elements of a Hammam, exemplified by its Ottoman dome and octagonal pool. It is located at Döbrentei tér 9 on the Buda side of Erzsébet Bridge. The bath has six therapy pools and one swimming pool where the temperature is in between . The components of slightly radioactive thermal water includes sulfate, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate and a significant amount of fluoride ion. A sight-seeing brochure claims the water can help to treat degenerative joint illnesses, chronic and sub-acute joint inflammations, vertebral disk problems, neuralgia and lack of calcium in the bone system. A38 is an entertainment and cultural venue on the Danube river in Budapest, Hungary, opened on 30 April 2003. Its structure repurposes a decommissioned stone-carrier ship that operated in Ukraine and is now anchored permanently to the bottom of Petőfi Bridge. Maxime Jacques Marcel Verhagen (; born 14 September 1956) is a retired Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and historian. Kinga Göncz (born 8 November 1947) is a Hungarian academic and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary between 2006 and 2009. In 2009 she headed the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) European election list and was subsequently elected as one of 22 Hungarian Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).
