LA Current
The LA Current is a professional swimming club and one of the original eight clubs of the International Swimming League. The team is based in Los Angeles, CA led by general manager Lenny Krayzelburg and head coach David Marsh. During the inaugural season in 2019 they earned their spot in the final as one of the top two teams in their division. They secured their spot in the Final by winning the US Derby. The Current finished 4th place in 2019 ISL Finals. International Swimming League
The International Swimming League (ISL) is an annual professional swimming league, established in 2019. It features a team-based competition format with fast-paced race sessions. In 2019, the regular season started in October and the Final Match was held in December. Athletes with a history of breaking anti-doping rules are banned from ISL. In March 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ISL abruptly cancelled its fourth season and all competition in 2022. Matt Grevers
Matthew Grevers (born March 26, 1985) is an American competition swimmer who competes in the backstroke and freestyle events, and is a six-time Olympic medalist. He has won a total of thirty-three medals in major international competition, fourteen gold, twelve silver, and seven bronze spanning the Olympics, World Championships, and the Universiade. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Grevers won gold medals as a member of the U.S. teams in the 4×100-meter freestyle and 4×100-meter medley relays, and a silver medal in the 100-meter backstroke. Four years later, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won gold medals in the 100-meter backstroke and the 4×100-meter medley relay, and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. Farida Osman
Farida Hisham Osman ( ar, فريدة هشام عثمان; born 18 January 1995) is an Egyptian competitive swimmer who specializes in butterfly and freestyle events. An All-Africa Games gold medalist and Egyptian national champion and record-holder. Osman is the fastest female swimmer in Egypt and Africa, she is currently coached by Teri McKeever. Osman holds the senior national records for all the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events, as well as African records in the 50m and 100m butterfly. Early life Daughter to dentists Hisham Osman and Randa Elsalawy, Osman was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1995, and raised in Cairo, Egypt. She started swimming at the age of five at the Gezira Sporting Club with her brother Ahmed. Blake Pieroni
Blake John Pieroni (born November 15, 1995) is a three-time Olympic gold medalist in swimming. He is a two time Olympian and gold medalist in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at both the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics. On the relay in 2016, he swam in the prelims of the race, on the 2020 Olympics 4×100-meter freestyle relay he swam in both the prelims and the final. He also won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Olympic Games, swimming the freestyle leg of the relay in the prelims. Kathryn "Katie" McLaughlin (born June 9, 1997) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in butterfly and freestyle events. McLaughlin has represented the United States in international competition at the FINA world championships and the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. She qualified for the 2020 US Olympic Swimming team in the 200m freestyle. Career At the 2014 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, McLaughlin won a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly. Felipe Lima (swimmer)
Felipe Ferreira Lima (born 5 April 1985) is a Brazilian swimmer. He has six medals in World Championships: two in long course, and four in short course, highlighting his bronze medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2013 World Championships. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's 100 metre breaststroke, finishing in 8th place in his semi-final and failing to reach the final. Vice-captain, alternate captain (ice hockey) or vice-skip (curling) may refer to a role in a number of sports immediately below the role of captain. Annie Lazor (born August 17, 1994) is an American competitive swimmer. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where she won the bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke. Will Licon
William Andrew Licon ( ; born August 25, 1994) is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in breaststroke and medley events. He currently competes for the professional team LA Current in the International Swimming League. Licon is a three-time World Championship medalist, a two-time Pan American Games gold medalist and has been a member of the United States national team since 2015. He is the current American record-holder in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:47.91. Licon competed for the Texas Longhorns from 2013 to 2017 under head coach Eddie Reese where he was an 11-time NCAA champion, a 15-time All-American, and a 12-time Big 12 Conference champion.
