Lørenskog Upper Secondary School
Lørenskog Upper Secondary School ( no, Lørenskog videregående skole) is an upper secondary school in Lørenskog in Akershus, Akershus county, Norway. Established in 1972, it is one of two upper secondary schools in Lørenskog municipality along with Mailand Upper Secondary School. History The school was established in 1972 as ''Lørenskog Gymnasium''. Its initial buildings, which was located on a farm in Fjellhamar was previously used as a town hall. However, due to the recent construction of a new town hall at Kjenn, the farm became available for the new school to use. Two years after opening, it was renamed ''Lørenskog School Center'', the school was understaffed and the classrooms were tiny, the science classes had to be done at the nearby Fjellhamar elementary school, and the school had only one full-time employee which was the principal. Lørenskog
is a municipality in Akershus in Viken county, Norway. A suburb of Oslo, it is part of the Oslo urban area and the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lørenskog. Lørenskog was separated from the municipality of Skedsmo on 1 January 1908. General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old (and no longer existent) ''Leirheimr'' farm. The first element is ''leirr'' which means "clay" and the last element is ''heimr'' which means "homestead" or "farm". Thus: "the farm built on clay ground". The suffix ''skógr'' (meaning "wood") was added later, changing the meaning to "the woodlands around the farm ''Leirheimr''". Prior to 1918, the name was spelled "Lørenskogen". Tom Nordlie (born 2 March 1962) is a Norwegian football coach. He has managed several top Norwegian football teams. Playing career Nordlie was not a footballer himself, but he did play for the national water polo team. He has his education from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. Marianne Aulie (born 23 October 1971, in Lørenskog) is a Norwegian painter and former model. She is a Norwegian contemporary artist, primarily known for painting and performance art. Aulie's large, colorful and expressive paintings explore the neo expressionist, action paint and neo pop art movements. Aulie is also known for her controversial performance art and guerilla marketing tactics to draw attention to her work, often employing nudity and dramatic gestures to do so. Marion Elise Ravn (born 25 May 1984), better known abroad as Marion Raven, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Raven formed the pop duo M2M with Marit Larsen, though they ceased performing together in 2002. Marit Elisabeth Larsen (born 1 July 1983) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. She began playing violin at age of 5 and played it until the age of 8. M2M (band)
M2M were a Norwegian pop duo comprising Marit Larsen and Marion Raven. Larsen and Raven had been friends since the age of five, and formed a music duo when they were eight. They released a children's album in 1996 when Larsen was 12 and Raven was 11, under the name "Marit & Marion". The album was nominated for a Spellemannprisen award and the band changed their name to M2M after signing a record deal with Atlantic Records in 1998.
