Lísek (until 1951 Lhota) is a municipality and village in Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants. Administrative division Lísek consists of three municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census): *Lísek (7) *Lhota (364) *Vojtěchov (21) Etymology The village of Lísek was founded on the site of a forest called Lísek. The name is derived from , meaning 'hazel'. Geography Lísek is located about east of Žďár nad Sázavou and northwest of Brno. It lies in the Upper Svratka Highlands. The highest point is the hill Samotín at above sea level. The Bystřice Stream (a tributary of the Svratka (river), Svratka) originates here and flows across the municipal territory. History The first written mention of Lhota is from 1360.
