László Fábián (canoeist)
László Fábián (10 July 1936 in Budapest – 10 August 2018) was a Hungarian sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1950s to the late 1960s. He won a gold medal in the K-2 10000 m at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. He was Jewish. A canoe is a lightweight, narrow watercraft, water vessel, typically pointed at both ends and open on top, propelled by one or more seated or kneeling paddlers facing the direction of travel and using paddles. In British English, the term ''canoe'' can also refer to a kayak, whereas canoes are then called Canadian (canoe), Canadian or open canoes to distinguish them from kayaks.
