Lycée Français Paul Valéry De Cali
''Lycée Français Paul Valéry de Cali'' (LPFV; ) is a French international school in Cali, Colombia. It serves preschool levels, through to the final year of senior high school, ''terminale''. The school was founded in October 1956 to bring French education to the city. It had a number of venues until it moved to a permanent location in 1967 to La Flora, a neighborhood at the north of the city. Under the directorship of headmaster Slavomir Draschler the school graduated its first class in 1970. In 2022 the school moved to a new countryside venue in Arroyohondo (Yumbo). Ambroise Paul Toussaint Jules Valéry (; 30 October 1871 – 20 July 1945) was a French poet, essayist, and philosopher. In addition to his poetry and fiction (drama and dialogues), his interests included aphorisms on art, history, letters, music, and current events. Valéry was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 12 different years. Biography Valéry was born to a Corsican father and Genoese-Istrian mother in Sète, a town on the Mediterranean coast of the Hérault, but he was raised in Montpellier, a larger urban center close by. After a traditional Roman Catholic education, he studied law at university and then resided in Paris for most of the remainder of his life, where he was, for a while, part of the circle of Stéphane Mallarmé. Monsieur Periné is a Bogotá-based musical ensemble from Colombia with an Afro-Colombian sound that mixes Latin and European flavors. Lead singer Catalina García sings in a mixture of Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese. Other members include Santiago Prieto, who plays the charango, violin, and guitar; Eva Peroni on the bass; Jairo Alfonso on the winds (primarily saxophone and clarinet); Abstin Caviedes on the trombone and bugle; Miguel Guerra on percussion; and Darwin Paez on the drumset. Mara Viveros Vigoya
Mara Viveros Vigoya (born 1956) is a Colombian academic. Life Vigoya was born in Cali, Colombia on February 6, 1956. She studied at the Lycée Français Paul Valéry de Cali and received her PhD in Anthropology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris (EHESS). She is a professor at the Department of Anthropology and the School of Gender Studies at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia where she has taught and conducted research since 1998. She is also the co-director of Research Group "Interdisciplinary Group for Gender Studies".
