''Lycée Français Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry de Santiago'' (LAFASE) is a French international school in Vitacura and in Colina, both in Greater Santiago. It is named after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The school serves levels ''maternelle'' (preschool) through ''lycée'' (senior high school). It opened on 5 September 1959. The Chamisero campus had the first stone laid in May 2012. Colina is a Chilean city and commune, capital of the Chacabuco Province, in the northern part of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, approximately 30 kilometers north of Santiago Centro. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Colina spans an area of and has 77,815 inhabitants (41,004 men and 36,811 women). Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, vicomte de Saint-Exupéry (29 June 1900 – 31 July 1944), known simply as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (, , ), was a French writer, poet, journalist and aviator. Born in Lyon to an French nobility, aristocratic family, Saint-Exupéry trained as a commercial pilot in the early 1920s, working airmail routes across Europe, Africa, and South America.
