Luís Filipe Paixão Martins (born 1 January 1954, Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese Communications Specialist and was formerly a Journalist and Communications and public relations consultant. He founded LPM Comunicação, the first communication consultancy firm in Portugal and current leader in the sector, and created the NewsMuseum. Professional activity Luís Paixão Martins became interested in radio while a student at Liceu Camões in Lisbon. He entered the school’s radio - ERE (''Equipa Radiofónica de Emissão'') - in 1967. In 1971 he started his professional activity as a broadcaster on Radio Renascença. It was there that he became a professional as a radio presenter. In 1975, already as a journalist, he joined ''Jornal Novo'' . In 1976 he moved to news agency ANOP. He returned to radio in 1979 when Rádio Comercial was launched. LPM Comunicação is a Portuguese Public Relations and Communication Consultancy firm. It was founded in 1986 by Luís Paixão Martins, who introduced the concept of Communication Consultancy in Portugal. The firm has been leading the industry over the years. Activity Under the firm's management are about 100 communication projects and more than 80 clients. NewsMuseum
The NewsMuseum is a museum dedicated to news, News media, media and communication located in Sintra, Portugal. Inspired by the Washington, D.C., Washington’s Newseum (United States, USA), it was inaugurated in the first minutes of 25 April 2016, in an event attended by the President of Portugal, President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.   It occupies the former facilities of the Museu do Brinquedo (Toy Museum) and presents a history of the media and journalism evolution. The Acta Diurna association, which promotes the project and is presided by Luís Paixão Martins, has invested approximately 1.8 million euros in the museum. The project also has the support of Sintra’s city council, which lent the property in the center to the association, for 20 years.
