Luma Language
Luma is a Southern Loloish languages, Southern Loloish language of northern Laos. Together with Akeu language, Akeu, it belongs to the Siloid languages, Akoid (or Siloid) group of languages. Luma speakers consider themselves to be distinct from Akha language, Akha. There are two dialects, Luma proper (also called Luma Pala) and Luma Eushi. Dialects There are two dialects of Luma, with a combined total of about 12,000 speakers. *Luma proper (autonym: Luma Palà): spoken mostly in Khua district, Khua District, Phongsaly Province, as well as in May district, Laos, Mai District and Samphanh district, Samphan District. There are about 7,000 speakers in of Luma proper in Khua and Samphan districts. *Luma Eushi (/ə̀sʲi/ [ə̀ɕi]): spoken by 4,752 people in May district, Laos, Mai District, Phongsaly Province, in the 18 villages of Phia Lao Kao, Phia Lao Mai, Phiang Louang, Mong Lun, Huay Thong, Sao Yae, Lao Ma Kaang, Kha Ci, Houay Hong, Moutern, Houay Daeng, Chom Chaew, Phu Yang, Bo ...

Laos
Laos, officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPDR), is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by Myanmar and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the southeast, and Thailand to the west and southwest. The country has a population of approximately eight million. Its Capital city, capital and most populous city is Vientiane. The country is characterized by mountainous terrain, Buddhist temples, including the UNESCO's World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang, and French colonial architecture. The country traces its historic and cultural identity to Lan Xang, a kingdom which existed from the 13th to 18th centuries. Through its location, the kingdom was a hub for overland trade. In 1707, Lan Xang split into three kingdoms: Kingdom of Luang Phrabang, Luang Prabang, Kingdom of Vientiane, Vientiane, and Kingdom of Champasak, Champasak.
