Lukács Kornél
Lukács "Csucsu" Kornél (born 5 September 1991) is a Hungarian rally and rallycross driver. He competed foWurmbrand RacinganArrabona Rallye Club in thEWRC
and the Hungarian Rally Series events. His co-driver is Márk Mesterházi. He currently competes in the FIA World Rallycross Championship with Speedy Motorsport in a Kia Rio.


Career


Early career

Since his childhood he has participated in racing competitions. Originally, he started his career as a motorcycle racer before switching to rallying. After participating several amateur competitions, he rapidly moved up to professional racing level. At the age of 16 he started his amateur driver career by entering smaller events with a Suzuki Swift. In 2009 he and his co-driver Márk Mesterházi were driving rally sprints.

FIA World Rallycross Championship
The FIA World Rallycross Championship (official abbreviation is World RX) is a rallycross series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA in conjunction with series promoter Rallycross Promoter GmbH (founded by Red Bull GmbH, Red Bull and KW25). From the inaugural season in 2014 to 2020, IMG (company), IMG Motorsport fulfilled the role of promoter. Format The series currently consists of 12 two-day events driven on closed circuits with mixed surface (mostly asphalt and gravel). Each event consists of: * 4 Qualifying heats. In each of the 4 series there are smaller races containing 3 to 5 cars, and the driver with the fastest overall race time after 4 laps (including one Glossary of motorsport terms#J, Joker Lap) is declared the qualifying winner of Q1, Q2, Q3 and/or Q4.
