Monte Águila () is a Chilean town in the Bío Bío Region, Bio Bio Region. Its population is 6,574. Toponymy According to the aboriginal account of the area that lived in the first half of the twentieth century, the name "Monte Águila" comes from the lonco Ñancomawida, whose name, in Mapuche language, Mapudungun, meant ''"Mount of the Eagles"'' (in Spanish language, Spanish: Monte de las águilas).
