Luciano Lizárraga
Luciano Lizárraga Goenaga (13 March 1881 – 3 May 1960) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender and midfielder for Madrid FC and FC Barcelona, although he never actually played an official match with the Catalan side. Either way, he is considered one of the second-ever player to play for both FC Barcelona and Madrid FC, only after Alfonso Albéniz. Playing career Sociedad Española Luciano Lizárraga was born in Hernani on 13 March 1881, but it was in Barcelona where he began to play football. On 24 September 1900, the 19-year-old Lizarraga was one of the footballers who played in the first match of ''Sociedad Española'', now known as RCD Espanyol, which was held on the ''Plaza de las Armas''. He alternated the defensive demarcation with the midfield. Hernani, Spain
Hernani is a town and municipality located in the province of Gipuzkoa, Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. The town sits on the left bank of the Urumea river. It is located at a distance of 9.2 km from San Sebastián. The municipality of Hernani occupies an area of approximately 40 square kilometres and is bordered by San Sebastián, Astigarraga, Arano, Elduayen, Errenteria, Lasarte-Oria and Urnieta. The Hispània Athletic Club was a football team based in Barcelona, Spain, which existed during the years 1900 and 1903. It was one of the first football clubs in the city and in 1901, Hispania was the fundamental head behind the organization of the inaugural edition of the Copa Macaya, which was the first football competition played in the Iberian Peninsula, and they won the tournament after beating FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol for the title, thus becoming the very first Spanish club to win an official title. 1900–01 Copa Macaya
The 1900–01 Copa Macaya was the 1st staging of the Copa Macaya. This tournament is best known for being the very first football competition played on the Iberian Peninsula. The competition was held on the road between 20 January 1901 and ended on 14 April, and it was won by Hispania AC, narrowly beating FC Barcelona by just two points. Overview In December 1900, Alfonso Macaya, the then president of Hispania AC, offered a trophy (the Copa Macaya) to the winners of a tournament played on the road featuring six teams from Catalonia: FC Barcelona (1899), Hispania AC (1900), Club Tarragona, Sociedad Franco-Española (1900), Club Espanyol (now RCD Espanyol), and SD Santanach (1900).
