Love Me If You Dare (film)
''Love Me If You Dare'' () is a 2003 Romance film, romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Yann Samuell. It stars Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard as best friends Julien Janvier and Sophie Kowalsky, who begin playing a game of dares as children and find themselves unable to stop as they grow older, even when the game threatens to destroy their lives. The film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on 29 August 2003. It was released theatrically in France by Mars Distribution on 17 September 2003 and in Belgium by Cinéart on 24 September 2003. It was a box office hit in France and sold over 1 million tickets. Plot The film begins where a little girl, Sophie, is being bullied by other children. Only a bus driver and a boy, Julien, help her collect her books that the others have thrown into a puddle. Yann Samuell
Yann Samuell (born 7 June 1975) is a French film director and screenwriter. Life and career Samuell went to film school and was a storyboard artist before becoming a director. He had his directing debut in 2003 with ''Love Me If You Dare (film), Love Me If You Dare.'' His second film was the romantic comedy ''My Sassy Girl (2008 film), My Sassy Girl'' (2008). Additional works include ''L'âge de raison (2010 film), L'âge de raison'' (2010). Samuell was screenwriter and director of War of the Buttons (2011 Yann Samuell film), a 2011 adaptation of Louis Pergaud's popular novel, ''La guerre des boutons.''
