The Swedish Women's Voluntary Defence Organization ( (''SLK'') communicatively, , and ''Riksförbundet Sveriges lottakårer'' juridically, ) is an independent auxiliary defence organization in Sweden. The organisation is part of the Swedish Total Defence (''Totalförsvaret''), the national defence strategy of Sweden. The organisation was created in 1924 as a Swedish version of the Finnish equivalent organisation Lotta Svärd (created in 1918), which subsequently inspired other Scandinavian and the Baltic states to create their own organisations based on the same principles. These are collectively called "Lotta movements" as the majority of these organisations have adopted the name Lotta as the general designation for organisation members. Svea Life Guards
The Svea Life Guards (), also I 1, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that was active in various forms 1521–2000. The unit was based in the Stockholm Garrison in Stockholm and belonged to the King's Life and Household Troops (''Kungl. Maj:ts Liv- och Hustrupper'') until 1974. History 1500s–1900s Svea Life Guards, the Swedish Army's first guard infantry regiment, originated from the Trabant Corps that surrounded the first Vasa Kings and is said to have been formed in 1526. Aizsargi
Aizsargi (; officially – , or LAO) was a volunteer paramilitary organization, militia with some characteristics of a military reserve force in Latvia during the interbellum period (1918–1939). The Aizsargi was created on March 30, 1919, by the Latvian Provisional Government as a self-defense force - a kind of National Guard - during the Latvian War of Independence. In 1921, it was reorganized to follow the example of the Finnish ''Suojeluskunta'' (known as the "White Guard"). Countess Alice Viktoria Trolle-Wachtmeister (9 May 1926 – 26 June 2017) was a courtier at the Royal Court of Sweden from the 1970s to 2015, serving as chief court mistress from 1994 to 2015. Early life and education Alice Viktoria Tornérhielm was born on 9 May 1926 in Helsingborg, the daughter of Erik Gunnar Tornérhielm (1895–1969), a squire from , and the Danish-born Ellen Valentiner-Branth (1897–1965). As a child, Trolle-Wachtmeister was often ill and lived for a long time in a sanatorium with a nurse in her mother's home country, Denmark.
