Balochi Language
Balochi (, romanized: ) is a Northwestern Iranian language, spoken primarily in the Balochistan region of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. In addition, there are speakers in Oman, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, Turkmenistan, East Africa and in diaspora communities in other parts of the world. The total number of speakers, according to '' Ethnologue'', is million. Of these, 6.28 million are in Pakistan. Balochi varieties constitute a dialect continuum and collectively at least have 10 million native speakers. The main varieties of Balochi are Eastern (Soleimani), Southern (Makrani) and Western (Rakhshani). Kacchi Plain
The Kacchi Plains ( Sindhi: ڪچي ميدان, Balochi: کَچِّ سَتَیْ زَمِیمْ) or Bolan Plains, also known as Kach Gandava is a region located in Balochistan, Pakistan. The addition of the latter "gandava" is based on the name of the town of Gandava in the present-day Balochistan, Pakistan. History The Kachhi Plain is the home of the archeological site of Mehrgarh, one of the most important Neolithic sites in archaeology, in the Kachhi district of Pakistan. It is one of the earliest sites with evidence of farming (wheat and barley) and herding (cattle, sheep and goats) in South Asia. Perhaps, the region also was an important IVC landholding. Kachhi District
Kachhi or Kacchi (, ), previously known until 2008 as Bolan District, is a district located in the central part of the Balochistan province in Pakistan. The Bolan area remained under one district Kacchi until 31 December 1991. The Deputy Commissioner's office started functioning on 17 May 1992, and Bolan became one of the four districts of Naseerabad Division, until the abolition of Divisions in 2000. Brahui People
The Brahui (), Brahvi, or Brohi are an ethnolinguistic group of pastoralists principally found in Pakistan, and to a smaller extent in Afghanistan and Iran. They speak Brahui language, Brahui, which belongs to the Dravidian languages, Dravidian language family. Etymology The origin of the word "Brahui" is uncertain. Mikhail Andronov hypothesised a derivation from Dravidian (lit. Northern hillmen). Luti People
Luti people (), also known as looti are a group in Iran. Luti people are considered outcasts, polluted and inferior by the general society and no numbers exist on their population. They formerly spoke a distinct language called ''Darvishi'' or ''Lutiyuna'' which some Luti people have partially retained. Etymology The etymology of the word 'Luti' is unclear, since it has had various meanings throughout history. The term was first used by 10th-century poet Kesa'i who equated the word to catamite. Rumi and Ubayd Zakani related the word to pederasty in the 13th- and 14th century, while Nasir Khusraw equated 'Luti' to "drinkers, thieves and whore-mongers". Moreover, Suzani Samarqandi warned that they could not be trusted in commercial affairs. Saraiki Language
Saraiki ( ', ; also spelt Siraiki, or Seraiki) is an Indo-Aryan language of the Lahnda group. Lurs
The Lurs, Lors or Luris () are an Iranian people living in western and southern Iran. The four Luri branches are the Bakhtiari, Mamasani, Kohgiluyeh and Lur proper, who are principally linked by the Luri language. Lorestan province is named after the Lurs, but some Lurs live in other provinces including Fars, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Khuzestan, Hamadan, Isfahan, Tehran southern Ilam province, and Genaveh county in Bushehr province.
