Lordy Tugade
Lordy Tugade (born December 30, 1977, in Alaminos, Pangasinan) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player. He last played for the Powerade Tigers in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known as the Alaminos Assassin for his three-point shooting, he played for the NU Bulldogs in the UAAP and the Red Bull Barako both in their PBL and PBA stints before being traded to San Miguel in October 2006. Early life Tugade grew up as the fourth of six children, and the eldest son of his family. Growing up, he played volleyball as he developed his leaping ability and grew taller. Amateur career During the late 1990s, Tugade was recruited by Jojo Villa to play for the NU Bulldogs. He joined up with fellow Pangasinense Danny Ildefonso to lead the Bulldogs to decent finishes in the UAAP. Tugade then became NU's primary offense player after Ildefonso's departure to the PBL. Philippine Basketball Association Mythical Team
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Mythical Team is an honor given annually to the best players in each of the five basketball positions: point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center. Kerby Raymundo
Kerby Mariano Raymundo (born January 19, 1981) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known as The Kid, he was a former star player with the Letran Knights during his NCAA years. Amateur career It was only in Raymundo's junior year in Jose Rizal Institute (High school) that he started playing basketball. He was discovered by Manuel "Molet" Pineda, a former Colegio de San Juan de Letran player and coach. Jimwell Torion (born March 13, 1973) is a former Filipino professional basketball player in the PBA from 2000 to 2007. Career After his college career with Salazar Institute of Technology in Cebu City, Torion was brought in by Photokina Marketing when it joined the amateur Philippine Basketball League (PBL) as Agfa Color (and later Red Bull). When Red Bull joined the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in the 2000 season, the team brought Torion in to PBA directly from the amateur PBL, along with Kerby Raymundo, Lordy Tugade, Junthy Valenzuela, Davonn Harp, and Bernard Tanpua. Junthy Valenzuela
Junthy Valenzuela (born June 5, 1979) is a Filipino former basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), a former Red Bull Barako player. He was automatically pulled by Red Bull directly from the Philippine Basketball League. On April 14, 2008, he was traded by the Red Bull Barako to the Barangay Ginebra Kings in exchange for a 2009 second round pick and a 2010 first round draft pick. After his PBA career came to an end, Valenzuela returned to Cebu to coach the University of San Carlos Warriors men's basketball team in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. Danilo Cabonitalla Ildefonso (born December 9, 1976) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He currently serves as an assistant coach for both the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the NU Bulldogs of the UAAP. Nicknamed "Danny I", "The Demolition Man" and "Lakáy", Ildefonso was awarded PBA Most Valuable Player in 2000 and 2001, being one of four players to do so in back-to-back seasons (along with Bogs Adornado, Alvin Patrimonio, and June Mar Fajardo). The Philippine Basketball League (PBL) was a commercial semi-professional basketball league in the Philippines. The league was composed of several commercial teams with several collegiate and provincial stars. History The PBL was formed on May 6, 1983, a brainchild of San Miguel Corporation chairman Danding Cojuangco, under its original name the Philippine Amateur Basketball League (PABL). It was the successor of the defunct Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association (MICAA), which folded during the early-1980s.
