''Looney Tunes'' is an American media franchise produced and distributed by Warner Bros. The franchise began as a series of animated short films that originally ran from 1930 to 1969, alongside its spin-off series ''Merrie Melodies'', during the golden age of American animation.Looney Tunes . This is a listing of the shorts, feature films, television programs, and television specials in the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon series, extending from 1929 through the present day. Altogether, 1,002 animated shorts alone were released under the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies banners from the 1930s through the 1960s (1000 official and 2 cut downs). From the beginning to the present day, 1,041 theatrical shorts have been created. 1920s–1930s A total of 270 shorts were produced and released during the 1930s. Additionally at least one short was produced in the 1930s, but never publicly released in theaters. Friz Freleng
Isadore "Friz" Freleng (; August 21, 1905May 26, 1995), credited as I. Freleng early in his career, was an American animator, cartoonist, Film director, director, Film producer, producer, and composer known for his work at Warner Bros. Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons from the 1930s to the early 1960s. In total he created more than 300 cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester the Cat, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam (to whom he was said to bear more than a passing resemblance), Granny (Looney Tunes), Granny, and Speedy Gonzales. ''Silly Symphony'' (also known as ''Silly Symphonies'') is an American animation, animated series of 75 musical short films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Productions from 1929 to 1939. As the series name implies, the ''Silly Symphonies'' were originally intended as whimsical accompaniments to pieces of music. Bosko
Bosko is an animated cartoon character created by animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. Bosko was the first recurring character in Leon Schlesinger's cartoon series and was the star of thirty-nine ''Looney Tunes'' shorts released by Warner Bros. He was voiced by Carman Maxwell, Bernard B. Brown, Johnny Murray, and Philip Hurlic during the 1920s and 1930s and once by Don Messick during the 1990s. Creation and the first film In 1927, Harman and Ising worked for the Walt Disney Studios on a series of live-action/animated short subjects known as the Alice Comedies. Buddy (Looney Tunes)
Buddy is an animated cartoon character in the ''Looney Tunes'' series by Leon Schlesinger Productions. He was the second star of the series, after Bosko. History Buddy was created after animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising severed their relations with producer Leon Schlesinger. Without his animators and Bosko, the star character they had taken with them, Schlesinger was desperate to build his own studio and maintain his contract with Warner Bros. He recruited several animators from other studios, among them Tom Palmer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Schlesinger told his new employees to create a star character for the studio, and Palmer created Buddy in 1933, with his first film '' Buddy's Day Out'' released on September 9. Charles Martin Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an American animator, painter, voice actor and filmmaker, best known for his work with Warner Bros.
