Freewheelers
''Freewheelers'' is a British television series made by Southern Television between 1968 and 1973 for the ITV network. It was created by the television producer Chris McMaster, who was aware of the popularity of adult action series such as '' The Avengers'' and '' Department S'' amongst teenagers and saw the potential of a version aimed at a younger audience. Plot In the opening story, three young people become caught up in the plans of ex-Nazi officer Karl von Gelb to "''reverse the verdict of the last war''" and inflict revenge on his former enemies. Under the direction of Colonel Buchan of MI5, the trio thwart Gelb's scheme to launch Polaris missiles on London from a captured nuclear submarine. Fast Forward (magazine)
''Fast Forward'' was a weekly children's magazine launched in September 1989 by the BBC to compete with ''Look-in''. It was aimed at seven- to 14-year-olds and was promoted heavily with trailers shown on Children's BBC. Circulation started at 210,000 copies per week and reached a peak of 340,000 in March 1990, but fell to 150,000 by Spring 1991. ''Fast Forward'' generally sold around 40% to 50% more copies than ''Look-in'' on a weekly basis. Format The centre pages of ''Fast Forward'' magazine usually included a pull-out poster. This would often be of television celebrities of the time, although on one occasion an edition was sold with 3-D glasses and a 3-D anaglyphic poster of New York. The magazine usually contained a number of cartoon scripts of celebrities and presenters who appeared on Children's BBC, such as Jimmy Savile and Andi Peters. ''TV Times'' is a British television listings magazine. From 1955 until 1991, it was the only source of seven-day listings for ITV and, from 1982, Channel 4 (as well as S4C in Wales in an enclosed local supplement titled '' Sbec''). The magazine did not circulate nationally until 1968 as some (usually smaller) regional stations opted to produce their own listings publications. Until the market was deregulated, its nearest rival was ''Radio Times'' – owned then by the BBC and at the time the only source of weekly BBC television and radio schedules. However the two magazines were very different in character, and viewers wanting the full listings for the coming week were required to purchase both publications. Alan Leslie Fennell (10 December 1936 – 10 December 2001) was a British writer and editor best known for work on series produced by Gerry Anderson, and for having created the magazines '' TV Century 21'' and ''Look-in''. Angus Allan
Angus Peter Allan (22 July 1936 – 16 July 2007) was a British comic strip writer and magazine editor who worked on ''TV Century 21'' in the 1960s and ''Look-in'' magazine during the 1970s. Most commonly known as Angus Allan and sometimes credited as Angus P. Allan, he was responsible for original comic strip adaptations of numerous popular TV series. Allan's output was prolific, and virtually all the Look-In comic strips were his creations. Some of his comic works included ''The Six Million Dollar Man'', ''Logan's Run'' and ''Charlie's Angels''. Allan collaborated with many well-known British comic strip artists, including Jim Baikie and Arthur Ranson. Peter Fairley
Peter Fairley (2 November 1930 – 5 August 1998) was a British science journalist who was the Science Editor for Independent Television News and '' TV Times'' magazine the late sixties and early seventies. His name became synonymous with ITN's extensive live coverage of the Apollo Moon landing missions. His daughter is Josephine Fairley, journalist, magazine editor and founder with her husband of Green & Black's chocolate company. Biography His father was a telecommunications engineer. Adam and the Ants were an English Rock music, rock band that formed in London in 1977. The band existed in two versions, both fronted by Adam Ant, between 1977 and 1982. The first phase began when the band were founded in May 1977 and were called the Ants until November of that year. They later changed their style from punk rock to post-punk and New wave music, new wave and released one album. Bros (British Band)
Bros () are an English band formed in 1986 in Camberley, Surrey. The band originally consisted of twin brothers Matt and Luke Goss, and their friend Craig Logan, who attended Collingwood School in Camberley. The band was managed by former Pet Shop Boys manager Tom Watkins. They achieved chart success and a large teenage fanbase in 1988 with songs such as " When Will I Be Famous?" and " I Owe You Nothing". Early the following year, Logan quit the band and the Goss twins continued as a duo. After two more albums the band split up in 1992.
