Long Rapids Township is a civil township of Alpena County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,010 at the 2010 census. Communities *Godfrey was the name of a post office here from 1883 until 1912. *Lachine is an unincorporated community near the southern boundary of the township on M-65 less than a mile north of its junction with M-32 at It was founded in 1909 as a station on a branch of the Detroit and Mackinac Railway, named by a railroad conductor from Lachine, Quebec, Canada. A post office was established in March 1910. A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. M-65 (Michigan Highway)
M-65 is a state trunkline highway in the US state of Michigan. The highway runs between termini on US Highway 23 (US 23) near Omer and Rogers City in the northeastern Lower Peninsula of the state. M-65 runs inland through several small communities in the region, passing through forests and fields along its course. M-65 crosses several watercourses, including the Au Sable River where it runs along the River Road National Scenic Byway. The region also includes the Huron National Forest and the Mackinaw State Forest areas. The original M-65 was created by 1919 on a discontinuous series of roads between the Ohio state line and Flint; the two sections were later joined together before the highway was replaced by US 23 in 1926. Thunder Bay River

Lier is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lierbyen. Ossineke Township is a civil township of Alpena County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,675 at the 2010 census. Communities *Hubbard Lake is an unincorporated community situated about one mile north of the water body, Hubbard Lake, which is entirely within Alcona County. The community is on the Thunder Bay River at with an elevation of above sea level. An early settler, John Ellsworth, began farming here in 1878.
