Lone Træholt
Lone Træholt is the first woman in the Danish armed forces to obtain the rank of general. On 30 September 2016, she was promoted to brigadier general in the Royal Danish Air Force, heading the Tactical Air Staff. In 2000, Træholt became the first woman in the Danish Air Force to hold the rank of lieutenant colonel (), and in 2008, she became the first woman in the Danish Air Force to hold the rank of colonel (). Early life and education Born on 15 July 1958 in Løkken in north-western Jutland, Lone Træholt matriculated from Brønderslev Gymnasium in 1977. She had initially considered studying biology but her elder brother, who was an air force pilot, convinced her to follow in his footsteps. She therefore trained as an officer at the Royal Danish Air Force Academy (1979–83). She underwent further officer training at the Royal Danish Military Academy in 1986 and 1992–93. Løkken, Denmark
Løkken is a town in Vendsyssel, Denmark with a population of 1,684 (1 January 2024). The town has historically been referred to as Løchen or Lykken. Originally, the town began as a fishing village with a successful shipping trade; today it is a popular tourist and vacationing destination. Air Base Karup is the main air base of the Royal Danish Air Force. It is situated 3 km west of Karup in mid-Jutland. The air base covers 3000 hectares of land of which only a third is inside the operational area marked by a 17 km long fence, Midtjyllands Airport share its runway's . The Order of the Dannebrog () is a Denmark, Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V of Denmark, Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the Order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order. Jette Albinus (born 1966) is the first woman in the Royal Danish Army to hold the rank of general. She was promoted on 11 September 2017 when she was also entrusted with taking command of the Danish Home Guard. Biography Born on 8 April 1966, Jette Albinus began her military career in 1988 when she trained as a reserve officer. In 1990, she continued basic training as officer until 1995 when she spent a year at the Royal Danish Military Academy. She subsequently attended the Royal Danish Defence College (2001–03). Præstø () is a town with a population of 3,880 (1 January 2024) in Vordingborg Municipality in Region Sjælland on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand (''Sjælland''). Combined Air Operations Centres (CAOCs) are multinational headquarters for tactical and operational control of NATO Air Forces below the Joint Force Command level. They operate within the NATO Integrated Air Defense System (NATINADS) framework. Within the European NATO command structure they are subordinated to NATO's Allied Air Command (AIRCOM), and is superior to Control and Reporting Centres, national airspace control centers and Regional Airspace Surveillance Coordination Centres (RASCC) such as BALTNET.
