Lockdown (2016)
The 2016 Lockdown (also known as ''Impact Wrestling: Lockdown'') was a professional wrestling television special produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which took place on January 30, 2016 at the Wembley Arena in London, England as part of the TNA Maximum Impact 8 Tour in January 2016. It was the twelfth event under the Lockdown chronology. Like the previous year's event, the 2016 edition of Lockdown was not held on pay-per-view (PPV) and instead, was featured as a special edition of TNA's weekly broadcast of ''Impact Wrestling'' on Pop TV on February 23, 2016. Five professional wrestling matches were contested at the event and all the events were contested inside a steel cage in the six-sided ring, dubbed the "Six Sides of Steel matches" while a Lethal Lockdown match was also featured at the event as per the theme of Lockdown events. Lethal Lockdown Match
A Lethal Lockdown match is a professional wrestling match used in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). This match has become a staple of TNA's Lockdown pay-per-view event, but has also made appearances at other TNA pay-per-views, and during Impact Wrestling TV broadcasts. Match format The match consists of a single ring enclosed by a steel cage with two teams facing off with each other. The staggered entry system is identical, to the WarGames match WarGames is a specialized steel cage match in professional wrestling. The match usually involves two teams of either four, five, or more wrestlers locked inside a steel cage that encompasses two rings placed side by side. The cage may or may not ... but weapons are permitted and are even provided. When all competitors have entered the ring, a roof is lowered onto the top of the cage, with various weapons hanging from it. Victory can be attained by pinfall or submission. The Impact X Division Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by Impact Wrestling. It debuted on June 19, 2002, at the taping of then-TNA's second weekly pay-per-view (PPV) event. The current champion is Trey Miguel, who is in his second reign.
