Liv.e
Hailee Olivia Williams (born 1998), known professionally as Liv.e (pronounced 'Liv'), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer. Originally from Dallas, Texas, her sound has been described as 'defying categorisation', incorporating elements from R&B, neo-soul, pop, hip-hop and jazz. Liv.e began her career with a series of EPs in 2017 and 2018. After collaborating with artists such as Earl Sweatshirt and Pink Siifu, she released her solo debut album '' Couldn't Wait to Tell You'' in 2020 to critical acclaim. Her following album, '' Girl in the Half Pearl'', was released to further acclaim in 2023. Liv.e's most recent release was the synth-punk and synthwave-influenced ''Past Futur.e'' (2024). ''Girl in the Half Pearl'' is the second full-length studio album by American alternative R&B and neo-soul singer Liv.e, released on February 10, 2023, by In Real Life. The follow-up to her critically-acclaimed debut album Couldn't Wait to Tell You, ''Couldn't Wait to Tell You'' (2020) and its companion Extended play, EP, ''Couldn't Wait to Tell You#CWTTY+, CWTTY+'' (2021)'','' it was preceded by the singles "Ghost", "Wild Animals", and "Find Out". Couldn't Wait To Tell You
''Couldn't Wait to Tell You'' is the debut studio album by American R&B singer Liv.e, released on July 31, 2020, by In Real Life. The album was widely praised by music critics. As part of a deluxe version of ''Couldn't Wait to Tell You,'' Liv.e released an EP of six additional songs, entitled '' CWTTY+'', in 2021. Background and recording The initial impetus for ''Couldn't Wait to Tell You'' was a set of beats sent to Liv.e by producer Mejiwahn. The album was recorded in Liv.e's bedroom in her mother's house in St. Louis, Missouri, over the course of 'a month or so'. Liv.e worked in Urban Outfitters whilst writing the album. ''Couldn't Wait to Tell You'' also features production from Ben Hixon, the president of Dallas-based music collective and record label Dolfin Records; Liv.e released several EPs on the label in the late 2010s. Livingston Lemorie Matthews, known professionally as Pink Siifu, and occasionally iiye, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Birmingham, Alabama. Life and career Matthews acquired an appreciation for music from his family, while dividing his time between Birmingham and Cincinnati in his youth. His father, a saxophone player, introduced him to classic jazz, while his mother and older brother introduced him to R&B and hip-hop. Matthews played the trumpet and drums in marching bands throughout his youth. After high school, he became a theater major at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton. Chopped and screwed (also called screwed and chopped or slowed and throwed) is a genre of hip-hop music and technique of remixing music that involves slowing down the tempo and DJing.
