Lita Ford
Lita Rossana Ford (born September 19, 1958) is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. She was the lead guitarist for the all-female rock band the Runaways in the late 1970s, and then embarked on a successful glam metal solo career that hit its peak in the late 1980s. The 1989 single "Close My Eyes Forever", a duet with Ozzy Osbourne, remains Ford's most successful song, reaching No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Early life Ford was born to Harry Lenard Ford and Isabella Benvenuto in London, England; her father was British and her mother was Italian. When she was in second grade, she moved with her family to the United States, eventually settling in Long Beach, California. ''Dancin' on the Edge'' is second solo studio album by English/American rock musician Lita Ford. It was her final release with Mercury Records, as she departed to sign with RCA Records in 1987. ''Out for Blood'' is the debut solo studio album by the American guitarist/vocalist Lita Ford, formerly of the band the Runaways. The original cover art for this album featured Lita standing in front of a spiderweb holding a broken blood-spurting guitar. It was later replaced with a cover of Lita standing in front of a purple background with her guitar. The album's artwork saw Ford adopting a very heavy metal-inspired image, an image she would maintain for much of the next decade. Sandy West
Sandra Sue Pesavento, known professionally as Sandy West (July 10, 1959 – October 21, 2006) was an American singer, drummer and songwriter. She was one of the founding members of The Runaways, the first teenage all-girl hard rock band to record and achieve widespread commercial success in the 1970s. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States and elsewhere, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre. Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin; September 22, 1958) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actress. Jackie Fox
Jacqueline Louise Fuchs (born December 20, 1959) is an American former musician. Under her stage name Jackie Fox, she played bass guitar for the pioneering all-girl teenage rock band The Runaways. She is the sister of screenwriter Carol Fuchs and sister-in-law of Castle Rock Entertainment co-founder Martin Shafer. The Runaways A Merit scholar, Fuchs had gained early admission to UCLA to study math when the opportunity to join the fledgling rock band the Runaways arose. Fuchs was "discovered" dancing at the Starwood by Rodney Bingenheimer (the self-proclaimed "mayor of the Sunset Strip"), who introduced her to producer/impresario Kim Fowley. Cherie Ann Currie (born November 30, 1959) is an American singer, musician, actress, and artist. Currie was the lead vocalist of the Runaways, a rock band from Los Angeles, in the mid-to-late 1970s. She later became a solo artist. Currie and her identical twin sister, Marie Currie, released the album '' Messin' With The Boys'' in 1980 as Cherie & Marie Currie. ''The Runaways'' is the debut studio album by American rock band the Runaways, was released on March 16, 1976, through Mercury Records. AllMusic has praised the album (especially band members Cherie Currie, Joan Jett and Lita Ford), comparing the band's music to material by Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. According to multiple sources, including Cherie Currie (in her memoir ''Neon Angel''), the liner notes of the 2003 Cherry Red Records reissue of ''The Runaways'', and Jackie Fox herself, bassist Nigel Harrison played bass on the album, due to manager Kim Fowley refusing to let Fox play on the record. The documentary film '' Edgeplay: A Film About the Runaways'' states that the album's first track "Cherry Bomb" was written ad hoc during the audition of lead singer Cherie Currie and the title is a play on the pronunciation of Currie's first name. Kim Vincent Fowley (July 21, 1939 – January 15, 2015) was an American record producer, songwriter and musician who was behind a string of novelty and cult pop rock singles in the 1960s, and managed the Runaways in the 1970s. He has been described as "one of the most colorful characters in the annals of rock & roll", as well as "a shadowy cult figure well outside the margins of the mainstream".
