The cabinet of Curaçao consists of several ministers and is headed by a prime minister (). The incumbent Prime Minister of Curaçao is Gilmar Pisas The Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao also is part of the cabinet of Curaçao, but resides in the Netherlands. A Curaçao cabinet becomes "demissionary" upon election day, or upon resignation, and generally stays in office until a new cabinet has been formed. All members of the cabinet are sworn in by the Governor of Curaçao. As of 2021, nine cabinets had served the country, presided over by eight prime ministers. Curaçao, officially the Country of Curaçao, is a constituent island country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in the southern Caribbean Sea (specifically the Dutch Caribbean region), about north of Venezuela. Lourdes Alberto is a Curaçaoan politician. She was in the interim from 24 March 2017 to 29 May 2017. The appointment of Lourdes Alberto took place on the recommendation of Eduard Braam, an independent member of the Estates of Curaçao and member of the ''Blok van 12'', which formed the majority in the Estates of Curaçao under the leadership of MFK leader Gerrit Schotte. During the formation of the , Braam broke with the PAR because he was not allowed to become a minister. Lourdes Alberto, an independent financial consultant, took office as a non-partisan minister. Sovereign People
Sovereign People (, ) is a political party in Curaçao founded in 2005 by Helmin Wiels and Harold Willems. The party aims for complete independence of Curaçao outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In 2012 Wiels stated that Curaçao could become independent within 10 years. In the Curaçao 2010 elections, Pueblo Sobrerano won four seats and became part of the governing coalition of the Cabinet Schotte on 10 October 2010. It became the largest party in the Estates of Curaçao after the Curaçao general election of 2012. Pueblo Soberano was headed by Helmin Wiels until his murder in May 2013. On 14 December 2015, Jaime Córdoba was elected the new political leader of Pueblo Soberano and succeeded Helmin Wiels. He was the sole candidate in the party elections. Jaime Córdoba (11 October 1950 – 15 December 2024) was a Curaçaoan politician of the Sovereign People (PS) political party. Between 23 December 2016 and 29 May 2017, he was Minister for Social Development, Work, and Welfare. He was a member of the Estates of Curaçao between 2010 and December 2016 and once more from 2017 until 2021. He served as vice president of the Estates between 2012 and 2015. From December 2015 until October 2018 Córdoba served as political leader of the Sovereign People political party. He is Minister of Economic Development in the cabinet of Eugene Rhuggenaath since 22 May 2020 and served in the same position from 2 June 2017 to 21 February 2019.
