The German Type 212 class (German: U-Boot-Klasse 212 A), also Italian ''Todaro'' class, is a diesel-electric submarine developed by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG (HDW) for the German and Italian navies. It features diesel propulsion and an additional air-independent propulsion (AIP) system using Siemens proton exchange membrane (PEM) compressed hydrogen fuel cells. The submarines can operate at high speed on diesel power or switch to the AIP system for silent slow cruising, staying submerged for up to three weeks with little exhaust heat. Utvær
Utvær is an island group in Solund Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is the westernmost archipelago in Norway. The main residential area on the rocky islands is also called Utvær. It lies on the western side of the Sognesjøen which is the mouth of the vast Sognefjorden. It is about west of the municipal centre of Hardbakke. The entire archipelago is protected as the Utvær nature reserve. Historically, Utvær had a very robust fishing industry and in 1858, the greater Utvær area was split off from the municipality of Eivindvig to become its own municipality known as Utvær. Ula, Norway
Ula is a small seaside village in the Tjølling district in Larvik municipality, Vestfold County, Norway. It had the status of ''tettsted'' (urban settlement) until 2003, when the population dropped below 200. Nordseewerke Emden GmbH (sometimes abbreviated NSWE, in English: North Sea Company) was a shipbuilding company, located in the Emden Harbor of the north German city of Emden. Founded in 1903, shipbuilding ended in 2010, and the company was taken over by the ''Schaaf Industrie AG'', which among other products, makes components for off-shore systems. The ''Ula'' class is a Norwegian submarine type which was assembled in Germany in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The class, consisting of six vessels, is currently the only submarine type in service with the Royal Norwegian Navy.
