Urdu (; , , ) is an Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan language spoken chiefly in South Asia. It is the Languages of Pakistan, national language and ''lingua franca'' of Pakistan. Malikzada Manzoor Ahmad
Malikzada Manzoor Ahmad (born Malikzada Manzuur Ahmad; 17 October 1929 22 April 2016) was an Indian Urdu poet, composer, compere, educationist and humorist. Primarily known for compering mushairas in India and abroad and contributing to Urdu literature, he also compered the DCM mushaira, IndiaPakistan poetry conference from 1952 to 2016. He also compered the IndiaPakistan mushaira in Ambala and in the Red Fort. Biography He was born as Malikzada Manzuur Ahmad in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. He wrote novels, poetry and prose such as ''College Girl'' (1954 novel), ''Urdu Ka Mas’laa'' (1957 monograph), ''Shahr-e-Sukhan'' (1961 poetry), and ''Raqs-e-Sharar'' (2004 autobiography). Satyapal Anand
Satyapal Anand; born April 24, 1931) is an Indian-American poet, critic and writer. He has written several fictional and poetry books in four languages: English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. He has also received awards for his literary work. Personal life Anand was born in Kot Sarang, Talagang district, now in Pakistan. He finished his primary education there and attended secondary school in Rawalpindi in 1947. After the partition of India, his family moved to Ludhiana in East Punjab, where he received his college education, earning a Masters in English from the Punjab University in Chandigarh with academic distinction. Rais Amrohvi
Rais Amrohvi (), whose real name was Syed Muhammad Mehdi (12 September 1914 – 22 September 1988) was a Pakistani scholar, Urdu poet, paranormal investigator, psychoanalyst and elder brother of Jaun Elia. He was known for his style of ''qatanigari'' (quatrain writing). He wrote quatrains for Pakistani newspaper Jang for several decade. He promoted the Urdu language and supported the Urdu-speaking people of Pakistan. His family is regarded as a family of poets. The Sindh Assembly passed The Sind Teaching, Promotion and Use of Sindhi Language Bill, 1972 that created conflict and language violence in the regime of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Majeed Amjad (Punjabi language, Punjabi, ) (29 June 1914 – 11 May 1974) was an Urdu Urdu poetry, poet from Pakistan. One newspaper described him as a "philosophical poet of depth and sensitivity". Zamin Ali
Syed Mohammad Zamin Ali Naqvi (1893–1955) popularly known as Zamin Ali was an Indian poet, author and educator. He has been referred to as "Baba-e-Urdu" or father of Urdu by Firaq Gorakhpuri and others. As an educator, he established the first Urdu department in un-divided India in 1924 at Allahabad University, systematized Urdu education from the primary to the PhD levels across India through the creation of curricula and textbooks, ensured Marsiyas were recognized as an art-form besides their religious content, and was an important contributor to Hindustani Academy's effort to establish Hindustani as a dual-script language based on Mahatma Gandhi's vision. Saeed Ahmad Akhtar
Saeed Ahmad Akhtar was an Urdu poet, playwright and educationist. He published his first Urdu poetry collection ''Diyaar e Shab'' in 1976.
