Slovakia
Slovakia, officially the Slovak Republic, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is bordered by Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, Austria to the west, and the Czech Republic to the northwest. Slovakia's mostly mountainous territory spans about , hosting a population exceeding 5.4 million. The capital and largest city is Bratislava, while the second largest city is Košice. Sarah Avni
Sarah I. Avni is a Slovak artist, based in Prague. She is involved in artistic photography and interior design in addition to painting. Zuzana Rabina Bachorikova
Zuzana is a common female given name in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is often translated to other languages as Zuzanna (Polish), Zsuzsanna (Hungarian), Suzanne, Susan, or Susannah – all commonly derived from the Hebrew language name Shoshana, meaning "lily". Mária Balážová
Mária Balážová (born 31 August 1956) is a contemporary Slovak artist. Her practise as an artist is usually associated with new geometry, post-geometry and postmodern. Life and work Balážová studied at the Academy of Muse Arts, Bratislava and Magister of Arts degree received in 1984. Since 1997, Balážová is also known as a teacher at the University of Trnava. Her husband is Blažej Baláž, Slovak painter. Immediately at the beginning, Mária Balážová, created her own „personal mythology“, emphasizing a snake motif in the geometrically stylised form of a cobra. This animal, which occupies an important position in world mythologies and religions, became the main motif of cycles of paintings, to which the artist gave the name Serpent Geometry. Lubica Kucerova (born 27 April 1983), also known as Lubica Slovak, is a Slovakian-born fashion designer, Ryerson University graduate and founder of Lubica, clothing company based in Jamaica. Lubica's early childhood influence was her grandmother who was a seamstress. She debuted her self-titled fashion line ''Lubica'' in Toronto at the LG Fashion Week in 2005 and has created several collections under her brand: Blue, Bliss, Bloom, Toucan, Trinity, Beyond and Dream. The Lubica line includes bikinis, resort contemporary women's wear and is inspired by the tropics. Zuzana Licko (born Zuzana Ličko, 1961) is a Slovak-born American Type design, type designer and visual artist known for co-founding Emigre (type foundry), Emigre Fonts, a digital type foundry in Berkeley, California, Berkeley, CA. She has designed and produced numerous digital Typeface, typefaces including the popular Mrs Eaves, Modula, Filosofia, and Matrix. As a corresponding interest she also creates ceramic sculptures and jacquard weavings. Early life Licko was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia and came to the United States with her family as a child. Zora Palová
Zora Palová (22 December 1947 – 11 January 2025) was a Slovak glass artist. Biography Palová was born in Bratislava, Slovakia on 22 December 1947, and attended the applied arts school there. She later became a teacher at the public art school in Nitra, and worked as a designer, before returning to her hometown and resuming studies in art. She initially studied painting and sculpture, but changed her major to study architecture and glass. From 1996 to 2003 she was head of the glass department at the University of Sunderland in England. Petra Štefanková
Petra (; "Rock"), originally known to its inhabitants as Raqmu (Nabataean Aramaic, Nabataean: or , *''Raqēmō''), is an ancient city and archaeological site in southern Jordan.
