Henrik Karlsson
Henrik Bjorn Karlsson (born 27 November 1983) is a Swedish-Kazakhstani former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 26 games in the National Hockey League with the Calgary Flames during the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 2002 to 2021, was spent in Sweden and then in the Kontinental Hockey League. Internationally Karlsson, who was born in Sweden, played for the Kazakhstani national team at two World Championships. Playing career A player undrafted in the NHL, Karlsson spent the majority of the 2008–09 season in the HockeyAllsvenskan with the Malmö Redhawks, but appeared in seven games in the Elitserien with Södertälje. He was signed as a free agent by the San Jose Sharks before the 2009–10 season, but was returned to Sweden and took up starting duties with Färjestad. Luleå HF
Luleå Hockeyförening, also known as Luleå Hockey, is a professional ice hockey club from Luleå, Sweden. The club has been playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden, since the 1984–85 season. They are the northernmost team in the league and have won the Swedish championships twice, in 1996 and 2025. Since being promoted to the top flight (then called Elitserien) in 1984, the team has not once had to participate in a promotion/relegation-qualifier to defend their spot in the top league. History Luleå Hockeyföreningen was formed on May 2, 1977 under the name GroKo Hockey, which was a merger of the ice hockey sections of IFK Luleå and Luleå SK. Modo Hockey
Modo Hockey (or MoDo with uppercase letters) is a professional ice hockey club in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. The team currently plays in Sweden's second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan after losing to HV71 after the play out following the 2024/25 season. The club was founded in 1987 and has won one title, the SHL championships, in 2007. The team's home arena since 2006 is the Hägglunds Arena (previously known as ''Fjällräven Center'' and ''Swedbank Arena''). Before then, the team played at Kempehallen, beginning in 1964. Chris Lee (ice Hockey)
Chris Lee (born October 3, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who last played with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), where he won the Gagarin Cup in 2014 and 2016. Lee represented his country at the 2017 IIHF World Championship, and the 2018 Winter Olympics; winning a silver and bronze medal respectively. Playing career Undrafted, Lee played 249 regular-season games in the American Hockey League for the Albany River Rats, Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, Iowa Stars, Bridgeport Sound Tigers., and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He played the 2011–12 season with Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). For the 2011–12 DEL season, Lee won the Defenceman of the Year award. 2012–13 Elitserien Season
The 2012–13 Elitserien season was the 38th season of Elitserien. The regular season began on 13 September 2012 and ended on 5 March 2013. The playoffs began on 12 March 2013 and ended on 18 April 2013. The 2012–13 Elitserien season was the last season under the name "Elitserien"; on 17 June 2013, the league was renamed "Swedish Hockey League" (SHL). Skellefteå AIK clinched the Swedish Championship for the first time since 1978, defeating Luleå HF 4–0 in the Finals. It was the team's second Swedish Championship in club history. Skellefteå also won the regular season for the first time since the 1980–81 season, and the second time in club history. Their 114-point finish is the highest number of points since Färjestad BK won the 2001–02 regular season with 118 points. Cristopher Nihlstorp
Cristopher Daniel Karlsson-Nilstorp (born 16 February 1984) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 6 games in the National Hockey League with the Dallas Stars during the 2012–13 and 2013–14 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 2003 to 2021, was mainly spent in the Swedish Hockey League. He currently serves as the goaltending coach for the Malmö Redhawks. Playing career Undrafted, Nilstorp's youth team was the Malmö Redhawks. After helping Rögle BK gain promotion to the then Swedish Elite League and later capturing a Championship title with Färjestads BK, on 5 June 2012 Nihlstorp signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Dallas Stars. Mikael Johansson (ice Hockey, Born 1985)
Mikael Johansson (born June 27, 1985) is a Swedish professional ice hockey centre, currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played under contract with the SCL Tigers of the Swiss National League (NL). He was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 9th round (289th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Johansson came through the youth ranks of Arvika HC. During the 2004–05 season, he played his first minutes in the Swedish second division HockeyAllsvenskan with Bofors IK and made his debut with Färjestad BK in the top-flight Swedish Hockey League (SHL) one year later. 2011–12 Elitserien Season
The 2011–12 Elitserien season was the 37th season of Elitserien. The regular season began on 13 September 2011 and ended on 6 March 2012. The following playoffs began on 10 March 2012 and ended on 19 April. Färjestad BK were the defending Swedish Champions. Brynäs IF won their first Swedish Championship title since 1999, as well as their 13th in history, after defeating Skellefteå AIK in six games. The regular season was won by Luleå HF, for the first time since 1996, while Djurgårdens IF and Timrå IK were forced to play in the 2012 Kvalserien for survival in the highest division. In Kvalserien, Timrå IK requalified and Rögle BK qualified for the 2012–13 Elitserien season at the expense of Djurgårdens IF. The 2011–12 Färjestad BK season is Färjestad's 37th and current season in the top tier Swedish league Elitserien (SEL). The regular season began on September 15, 2011 at home against Skellefteå AIK and is scheduled to end on March 6, 2012 on away ice against Frölunda HC. The 2011–12 season sees Färjestad attempting to defend their Swedish championship title from the previous season. Summary Färjestad was the only team in the league without a win in regulation time (60 minutes) after the first 11 games, having faced all teams in the league once. Färjestad were also located on the 12th and final spot with only 8 points in the standings at that time. Allmänna Idrottsklubben Ishockeyförening (abbreviated ''AIK IF'', also known as ''AIK Hockey'', often abbreviated ''AIK'' in hockey subjects), is the ice hockey department of sports club AIK based in Stockholm, Sweden. Since 2014, AIK's men's team compete in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden, following a four-year spell in the top flight, the Swedish Hockey League, SHL.
