2018–19 Ukrainian Premier League
The 2018–19 Ukrainian Premier League season was the 28th top-level football club competitions since the fall of the Soviet Union and the eleventh since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. The tournament started on 21 July 2018 and ended on 25 May 2019. The league took its winter intermission after Round 18 on 8 December 2018 and resumed its competition of the Championship with Round 19 on 16 February 2019. The first stage ended with Round 22 games on 17 March 2019. The draw for the second stage was announced for 5 March 2019. The 11-time winner Shakhtar Donetsk were the two-time defending champions. Gegham Kadymyan
Gegham Kadimyan (; born 19 October 1992) is a professional Armenian footballer who plays as a winger or forward. Club career Kadimyan is the product of Armenian FC Pyunik Sportive School System where his first trainer was Serzh Sargsyan and FC Arsenal Kharkiv, where he joined in age 14. He spent large part of his career as a player in three clubs of the Ukrainian Second League and the Ukrainian First League. Serge Akakpo
Serge Ognadon Akakpo (born 15 October 1987) is a Togolese retired professional footballer who played as a centre-back for the Togo national football team. Club career Akakpo began his career with Auxerre after breaking through the youth academy, he made his first-team debut with Auxerre in July 2007. Akakpo left Auxerre on a free transfer in January 2009 and moved to Liga I team Vaslui in Romania on a lucrative deal. He subsequently had spells with Celje and Žilina in Slovenia and Slovakia respectively. In 2014, Akakpo joined Ukrainian club Hoverla Uzhhorod. He made 30 Ukrainian Premier League appearances for Hoverla before leaving. Vyacheslav Hroznyi
Vyacheslav Viktorovych Hrozny (; born 12 July 1956) is a Ukrainian football player and manager. Career He is a holder of the 1980 KFK Cup of the Ukrainian SSR as a player of FC Nyva Ternopil when it used to play in Pidhaitsi. Hrozny is a graduate of the Lutsk Pedagogical Institute and the Higher School of Coaches in Moscow. Since the late 1980s coached number of clubs in post-Soviet countries. Until his appointment with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the mid-1990s, Hrozny coached as an assistant to a head coach. In 1997, he was suspended from coaching in Ukraine and moved abroad. Hrozny returned in 2002 after being appointed as a coach of the newly formed club Arsenal Kyiv. But he did not stay in Ukraine for too long and in 2008 Hrozny left again to coach Terek Grozny and FC Tobol. On 30 December 2019, Hroznyi was announced as the new manager of Shakhter Karagandy. FC Desna Chernihiv
Football Club Desna Chernihiv () is a Ukraine, Ukrainian football (soccer), football club based in Chernihiv. The original name of the club was "Avanhard" (FC Avanhard Chernihiv) during its first year of existence as part of a republican Avanhard (sports society), Avanhard sports society. Between 1961 and 1970 the club was called Desna. In 1972 it was replaced with SC Chernihiv (team of the FC CSKA Kyiv, SKA Kyiv) that played in Chernihiv for the next couple of years. In 1977 Desna was revived now in place of the amateur club "FC Khimik Chernihiv" that won regional competitions. Oleksandr Oleksandrovich Kovpak (; born 2 February 1983) is a retired Ukrainian footballer and current manager. Career He moved to Tavriya in the winter of 2005 from Dnipro Cherkassy. Kovpak become the top goalscorer of the Ukrainian Premier League 2008-09 with Tavriya, having netted 17 goals. Mykhailo Petrovych Mudryk (; born 5 January 2001) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Chelsea and the Ukraine national team. Mudryk is currently disqualified from football for alleged doping for 4 years. Mudryk began his career in the academies of Metalist Kharkiv and Dnipro, before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2016.
