Aleksander Jabłoński
Aleksander Jabłoński (born 26 February 1898 in Woskresenówka, in Imperial Russia; died 9 September 1980 in Skierniewice, Poland) was a Polish physicist and member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His research was in molecular spectroscopy and photophysics. Life and career He was born on 26 February 1898 in Woskresenówka near Kharkiv in Imperial Russia. He attended ''Gymnasium'' high school in Kharkiv as well as a music school where he learned to play the violin under supervision of Konstanty Gorski. In 1916, he started to study physics at the University of Kharkiv. During the World War I he served in the Polish I Corps in Russia. After the war he settled in Warsaw in 1918. In 1919–1920 he fought for Poland against aggression by Soviet Russia (and was consequently decorated with the Polish Cross of Valour). Henryk Niewodniczański
Henryk Niewodniczański (1900–1968) was a Polish physicist, professor at the Jagiellonian University and the creator and director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Kraków. Life and career He graduated from the Stefan Batory University in Wilno (Poland) in 1924 and in 1926 received his PhD from the same university. In 1927, he was awarded a fellowship at University of Tübingen. At that time his main field of interest was optics of metals and molecular optics. By studying the influence of the magnetic field on the fluorescence of mercury vapour he discovered magnetic dipole radiation. In 1934, as a fellow of Rockefeller Foundation, Niewodniczański worked in the Royal Society's Mond Laboratory and in the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge. Witold Nazarewicz
Witold (Witek) Nazarewicz (born 26 December 1954) is a Polish-American nuclear physicist, researcher, and educator. He is a John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor in Physics and Chief Scientist at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University, and a Professor at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, Institute of Theoretical Physics. Education Nazarewicz obtained an M.Sc.Eng. degree in Technical Physics and Applied mathematics from the Warsaw University of Technology in 1977. Olga Malinkiewicz (Polish pronunciation: ; born 26 November 1982) is a Polish physicist, inventor and entrepreneur. She is known for inventing a method of producing solar cells based on perovskites using inkjet printing. She is a co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer at Saule Technologies. Stanislas Leibler (born 1957) is a Polish-French-American theoretical and experimental biologist and physicist. He is Systems Biology Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and the Gladys T. Perkin Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Living Matter at the Rockefeller University. Jan Eugeniusz Krysiński
Jan Eugeniusz Krysiński (29 August 1935 – 19 February 2025) was a Polish scientist, specialising in fluid mechanics and turbomachinery research, and rector of Łódź University of Technology. Krysiński was a graduate of General Secondary School number three under the patronage of Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Lodz. In 1957 he completed his studies at the Technical University of Lodz, where he then started his scientific work. Since that time, he has remained employed at the university. He defended his PhD dissertation in 1965 and habilitation in 1975. In 1980 he was awarded the title of a professor in technical sciences. Since 1991 he held the position of a full professor.
