Kingston is the Capital (political), capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. Kingston is an unincorporated rural community in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. The village centre is located at the intersection of New Brunswick Routes 845 and 850. The square features a school, church, and a general store built in 1788. The Macdonald Consolidated School also houses a museum. There is also a farmers market in Kingston which draws buyers from such areas as Quispamsis and Rothesay, New Brunswick. Kingston Norman Rogers Airport or YGK Airport , also known as Kingston Airport, is the main airport serving Kingston, Ontario and its metropolitan area. The airport is named after former MP Norman McLeod Rogers ( Kingston City 1935–1940), Minister of Labour and then National Defence in Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King's cabinet. Kingston Airfield
Kingston Airfield, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, operated from 1929–1942 as Kingston's first airport. It consisted of a grass strip and supporting buildings in what is now the ''Kingscourt'' subdivision of the city, just to the west of the St. Mary's cemetery. The city of Kingston purchased what was then the Reid Farm and leased it to the Kingston Flying Club, who operated a flight school using two Gipsy Moth aircraft. The Kingston Airfield was a popular refueling stop between Toronto and Montreal, and in 1931, 1,400 transient aircraft were recorded using the field. The airport was closed in 1942 after a crash. After World War II, the Kingston Flying Club resumed operations at Norman Rogers Airport, west of the city, which had been built as a military field, and the original Kingston Airfield was redeveloped as a residential neighborhood. Kingston was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1925 and from 1953 to 1968. It was located in the province of Ontario. It was created by the British North America Act 1867, and initially consisted of the city of Kingston, Ontario. In 1903, it was expanded to include the village of Portsmouth. The electoral district was abolished in 1924 when it was redistributed into Kingston City riding. In 1952, a new Kingston riding was created from Kingston City and parts of Frontenac—Addington ridings. It consisted of the city of Kingston and the townships of Pittsburg, Storrington, Kingston, Howe Island, and Wolfe Island (including Simcoe Island, Horse Shoe Island, and Mud Island) in the county of Frontenac.
