Teresa Harding
Teresa Jane Harding (born 1968/1969) is an Australian local government politician who has served as the Mayor of the City of Ipswich since 28 March 2020. She is the 51st mayor of Ipswich and the first woman to hold the office in the city’s history. Harding was elected mayor as an independent candidate after running on a platform of restoring integrity to the council following a major corruption scandal in which the entirety of the Paul Pisasale / Andrew Antoniolli led Ipswich City Council were dismissed. A former federal political candidate for the Liberal National Party, she is the first non-Labor-aligned politician to lead Ipswich in over five decades. During her mayoralty, Harding has focused on transparency, financial accountability and reforming council governance, as well as managing rapid population growth and addressing waste management issues in the Ipswich region. David Underwood
David Francis Underwood (born 12 June 1951) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Pittsworth, the son of Frank Underwood. He attended state and Catholic schools in the Darling Downs region before becoming a forestry labourer, shed hand, bank clerk and ultimately schoolteacher. In 1977 he was elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Ipswich West. In 1981 he was appointed Opposition Health Spokesman, moving to Tourism, National Parks, Sport and the Arts in 1983, to Education and the Arts in 1986, and to Transport in 1987. He stepped down from the front bench in 1988 and retired from politics in 1989. Alfred John Stephenson
Alfred John Stephenson (1845–1914) was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly and a Member of the Queensland Legislative Council. Early life Alfred John Stephenson was born on 15 November 1845 at Pimlico, London, England, the son of John Stephenson and his wife Martha. He attended a Birkbeck school and then a private academy. At age 15, he left England and came to Ipswich, Queensland. Career Stephenson was apprenticed as printer on the ''North Australian'' newspaper published in Ipswich. In 1877 he became one of the proprietors of the ''Queensland Times''.
