Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire and officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. Charles Konan Banny
Charles Konan Banny (11 November 1942 – 10 September 2021)Biography at BCEAO website was an Ivorian politician, who served as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire, prime minister from 7 December 2005 until 4 April 2007. Life and career Banny joined the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in 1976, holding various positions in the Bank over the years. In 1988 he became Special Advisor to the Governor of BCEAO. Charles Blé Goudé
Charles Blé Goudé (born 1 February 1972) is an Ivorian political leader, born at Guibéroua, in the centre west of the country. He was acquitted by the International Criminal Court on 15 January 2019 of crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Côte d'Ivoire during the presidency of Laurent Gbagbo. Creator of the ''Young Patriots'' Blé studied English at the University of Cocody (Cocody is a Commune of Abidjan), where he began his political career leading strikes and demonstrations of the Student Federation of Cote d'Ivoire (FESCI), allied with the FPI during the 1990s. He succeeded Guillaume Soro as the Secretary General of FESCI from 1998 to 2000. Simone Gbagbo
Simone Ehivet Gbagbo (born 20 June 1949), National Assembly website (2007 archive page) . is an Ivorian politician. She is the president of the Parliamentary Group of the Ivorian Popular Front (FPI) and is a vice-president of the FPI. Amara Essy (20 December 1944 – 8 April 2025) was an Ivorian diplomat and politician. Close to Félix Houphouët-Boigny, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire between 1990 and 2000, and in this capacity he served as President of the 49th Session of the United Nations General Assembly between September 1994 and September 1995. Daniel Kablan Duncan
Daniel Kablan Duncan (born 30 June 1943) is an Ivorian politician. He previously served as Prime Minister of Ivory Coast from 11 December 1993 to 24 December 1999 and again from November 2012 to January 2017. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs from June 2011 to November 2012. He was also the first Vice President of Ivory Coast, after the recreation of this office, from January 2017 until 13 July 2020. Ivorian Popular Movement Of The Great West
The Ivorian Popular Movement of the Great West (''Mouvement populaire ivoirien du Grand Ouest''; MPIGO). One of two rebel movements in the west of Côte d'Ivoire, created to reinforce the rebel presence after the Marcoussis accords. Founded by sergent Félix Doh (killed April 2003 in an ambush), MPIGO recruited mostly in the ethnically libéro-ivoirienne Dan/Yacouba speaking region. MPIGO had some 6000 men under arms when it signed a ceasefire on 8 January 2003. Félix Doh
Felix Doh (died 25 April 2003) was a rebel leader in Côte d'Ivoire. He was the leader of the Ivorian Popular Movement of the Great West (MPIGO), based in the western town of Danané, during the civil war that was fought in Côte d'Ivoire from late 2002 to early 2003. He seems to have fought alongside Liberian mercenaries initially, but fighting later erupted between the Ivorian rebels and these mercenaries in April 2003. The Rally of the Republicans (; abbreviated RDR) is a liberal party in Ivory Coast (). The party is the country's governing party; the party's leader, Alassane Ouattara, is the current President of Ivory Coast. History The RDR, which has most of its support in the north of the country, was formed as a liberal offshoot of the ruling party, the Democratic Party of Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI), in mid-1994. Henriette Diabaté
Henriette Dagri Diabaté (born March 13, 1935) is an Ivorian politician and writer. A member of the Rally of the Republicans (RDR), Diabaté was Minister of Culture in Côte d'Ivoire from 1990 to 1993 and again in 2000; later, she was Minister of Justice from 2003 to 2005. She became Secretary-General of the RDR in 1999 and has been President of the RDR since 2017. Early life Diabaté was born in Abidjan and obtained her master's degree in 1968. Upon graduation, she was a professor of history for University of Abidjan from 1968 to 1995. While teaching, Diabaté received her doctorate degree in history in 1984.
