Jamrud (band)
Jamrud are an Indonesian rock & heavy metal band from Cimahi, West Java, Indonesia. They are notable as one of the most successful rock bands which known to bring rock music as popular music in Indonesia in the 1990s. Their fourth studio album, ''Ningrat'' (2000), has sold 2 million copies in Indonesia only, this making it the #7 highest selling album in Indonesia as well as the fourth best selling rock album in Indonesia. Poppy Mercury (15 November 1972 – 28 August 1995), born Poppy Yusfidawaty, was an Indonesian rock singer and musician, active in the 1990s. Early life Poppy Yusfidawaty was born in Bandung in 1972, as the fifth of seven children of H. Kemal Johan and Hj. Titi Supiyati. She had Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian and German Indonesian ancestry from her maternal grandmother, who was descended from the Grabosch family. Her maternal grandfather was of Javanese, Sundanese, Minang and Bugis descent. Raden Rara Nike Ratnadilla Kusnadi (27 December 1975 – 19 March 1995), better known as Nike Ardilla (), was an Indonesian singer and actress of Sundanese descent. Usually referred to as the Lady Rocker and the Queen of Rock by the Indonesian media, Nike was instrumental in the return of teen pop rock to the country's music scene and had a dominant presence during the first half of the 1990s. Search is a rock kapak band formed in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, in 1981 by drummer Yazit, lead guitarist Hillary Ang, bassist Nasir, rhythm guitarist Nordin and singer Amy. Their debut album was produced by Polygram Records (Singapore). The group have gone through many line-up changes in their career, but the songs and music have remained strong and unique among Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian fans. God Bless is an Indonesian rock band founded in Jakarta in 1973 by Ahmad Albar, Jockie Soerjoprajogo, Fuad Hassan, Donny Fattah, and Ludwig Lemans. It continues to be active and has received several awards from the Indonesian music industry. History God Bless was founded by Ahmad Albar (vocals), Jockie Soerjoprajogo (keyboard), Fuad Hassan (drums), Donny Fattah (bass), and Ludwig Lemans (guitar) in 1973. They had their first concert on 5 May 1973 at Taman Ismail Marzuki, which was followed on 16 August with the Summer 28 concert, the first (and, as of 2004, largest) open-air concert in Indonesia. During that period they also played at the Jakarta Fair, held near the National Monument. Dara Puspita was an all-female pop group from Surabaya, Indonesia, active in the 1960s and early 1970s. The band consisted of Titiek Adji Rachman (lead guitar), Susy Nander (drums), Lies Adji Rachman (rhythm guitar) and Titiek Hamzah (bass). The band was formed in 1964, with Titiek Rachman (born 1943) and her younger sister Lies (1945?–2023) on guitars. In addition, Ani Kusuma was the rhythm guitarist, and Susy Nander played drums. The Rachman sisters were two of 10 children of Adjie Rachman, formerly a kroncong musician. When Lies left the band for a month in 1964 to finish her education, she was replaced on bass by Titiek Hamzah (born 1949). The Tielman Brothers was the first Dutch-Indonesian band to successfully venture into the international music scene in the 1950s. They were one of the pioneers of rock and roll in The Netherlands and are credited with releasing the first Dutch rock and roll single, "Rock Little Baby of Mine" in 1958.
