Bulgarian A Professional Football Group
The First Professional Football League (), commonly known as Parva Liga or Bulgarian First League (currently known as the efbet League for sponsorship reasons), is a professional association football league in Bulgaria and the highest level of the Bulgarian football league system. Contested by 16 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Second Professional Football League. The Bulgarian football championship was inaugurated in 1924 as the ''Bulgarian State Football Championship'' and has been played in a league format since 1948, when the A Group was established. The champions of the First League have the right to participate in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League based on the league's European coefficient. Additionally, two UEFA Europa Conference League spots are allocated to the second team in the final standings and the winner of the European playoffs. Amir Sayoud
Amir Sayoud (; born 30 September 1990) is an Algerian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Saudi Pro League club Al-Raed and the Algeria national team. Career Youth career Born in Guelma, Sayoud began his career in 2002 in the youth ranks of local club Nasr El Fedjoudj. He then played for Rapid de Guelma and ES Guelma before moving to ES Sétif. While at Sétif, he saw a television commercial for try outs being held in Algiers for the 'Play Maker Academy' in Ismaïlia, Egypt. Of the 80 people trying out, Sayoud made the top 5 and was sent to train with 108 other players from the Arab world in Ismaïlia. After four months of training, only 35 players were chosen to stay; Sayoud was among them. The remaining players continued training and participating in matches with Sayoud being chosen as the top player among the group. PFC Slavia Sofia 1913 () is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Sofia, which currently competes in the top tier of the Bulgarian football league system, the First Professional Football League, First League. Slavia's home ground is the Stadion Aleksandar Shalamanov in Ovcha kupel with a capacity of 25,556. The team's colours are white and black. Established on 10 April 1913, Slavia is currently the oldest sports club in Sofia. Stefan Velev (; born 2 May 1989) is a Bulgarian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Botev Ihtiman. Club career Born in Sofia, Velev played for Septemvri as a schoolboy, before joining Slavia Sofia. But he found it difficult to break into the first team due to the consistency of Slavčo Georgievski and Pavle Popara. In June 2008 Velev signed a two-year contract with Lokomotiv Stara Zagora. He made his B PFG and Lokomotiv debut on 9 August in a home 1–0 against Shumen, scoring the goal of the win. On 13 March 2017, Velev signed a -year contract with Slavia Sofia. Vanja Džaferović (born 19 March 1983) is a Croatian actor, TV personality and former footballer. Early life Džaferović was born in Bosanski Brod, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and moved with his family in his childhood to Croatia due to the Bosnian War. Emil Angelov (; born on 17 July 1980 in Haskovo) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a forward. Career His career began at Svilengrad, having played for Haskovo as a youth. In 2001 Angelov joined Chernomorets Burgas. In his two and a half-year stint with the team, he played 55 games scoring 18 goals in the Bulgarian A PFG.
