The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. For sponsorship reasons the league is known as the Vodacom United Rugby Championship in South Africa, and the BKT United Rugby Championship in the competition's other territories, the split branding mirroring the format previously adopted in Super Rugby. The Championship represents the highest level of domestic club or franchise rugby in each of its constituent countries. Irné Philip Herbst (born 4 May 1993) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with English team Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby. His regular position is lock. Rugby career Schoolboy rugby Herbst was born in Witbank and earned a call-up to represent Mpumalanga at primary school level at the Under-13 Craven Week in 2006. At high school level, he attended Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria, where he was chosen to represent the at the Under-18 Craven Week in 2011. Luke McLean
Luke McLean (born 29 June 1987) is a former professional rugby union footballer who played as a fullback. Born in Australia to an Italian mother, he won 89 caps for the Italy national team. Personal life McLean was born in Townsville, Queensland. His mother's parents are both Italian; however, his grandfather had to give up his Italian citizenship to buy land in Australia. McLean attended St. Laurence's College, in South Brisbane, during his schooling years. He was College captain in 2004. Career Club career McLean played for Perth Spirit in the Australian Rugby Championship before joining Italian team Calvisano in 2007, turning down a training contract with Western Force. Roberto Santamaria (Messina, 21 settembre 1986) is an Italian coach and former union rugby player, who used to play as a hooker. Since 2021 he is a coach for the Italian Rugby Federation, where he had several positions, including coach of the Italian Under 18 and Under-20 national teams and coach of the Zebre Academy. The Bay of Plenty Rugby Union (''also referred to as "Bay of Plenty" or "BOPRU"'') is the governing body for rugby union in a portion of the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand. Its colours are dark blue and yellow in a hooped design. Epalahame Faiva (born 9 May 1994) is a New Zealand-born Italian rugby union player who plays as a hooker for Bath Rugby in Gallagher Premiership.
