Linus Söderström
Linus Söderström (born 23 August 1996) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently under contract with Skellefteå AIK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Söderström was contracted by Djurgårdens IF in his native Sweden, playing at the J20 SuperElit level when he was selected by the New York Islanders in the 4th round (95th overall) of the 2014 NHL entry draft. After loan assignments in the HockeyAllsvenskan with Södertälje SK, Almtuna IS and HC Vita Hästen, Söderström left Djurgårdens IF without a senior appearance, agreeing to a one-year deal with HV71 on April 11, 2016. Söderström made his SHL debut on October 1, 2016, making 30 saves on 31 shots in a game against Skellefteå AIK. On May 11, 2017, Söderström was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the New York Islanders. Skellefteå AIK is a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Skellefteå. They currently play In the Swedish Hockey League. They play their home games in Skellefteå Kraft Arena, which seats 6,001 spectators. The team has won the Swedish Championship four times – in 1978, 2013, 2014 and 2024. } The 2017–18 SHL season was the 43rd season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The season began in September 2017, and the regular season ended in March 2018, to be followed by the Swedish Championship playoffs, as well as relegation playoffs. The league consisted of 14 teams. HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Ice hockey in Sweden, Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and has also participated in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. The Le Mat Trophy (, ) is the trophy awarded to Swedish champions in ice hockey. The trophy has been awarded since the 1926 season and starting with the 1975–76 season – it has been awarded to the winners of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) playoffs. 2016–17 SHL Season
The 2016–17 SHL season is the 42nd season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The regular season began in September 2016 and ended in March 2017. The playoffs follow the conclusion of the regular season. Rögle BK and Leksands IF were forced to play in the SHL qualifiers to defend their SHL status. Rögle won their series against BIK Karlskoga in four games while Leksand lost to Mora IK over six games. Therefore, Mora were promoted to the SHL at the expense of Leksand. Goals Against Average
Goals against average (GAA), also known as average goals against (AGA), is a statistic used in field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and water polo that is the mean of goals allowed per game by a goaltender or goalkeeper (depending on sport). GAA is analogous to a baseball pitcher's earned run average (ERA). In Japanese, the same translation (防御率) is used for both GAA and ERA, because of this. For ice hockey, the goals against average statistic is the number of goals a goaltender allows per 60 minutes of playing time. It is calculated by taking the number of goals against, multiplying that by 60 (minutes) and then dividing by the number of minutes played.
