Linford Christie
Linford Christie (born 2 April 1960) is a Jamaican-born British former Sprint (running), sprinter and athletics coach. He is the only British man to have won gold medals in the 100 metres at all four major competitions open to British athletes: the Olympic Games, the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, World Championships, the European Athletics Championships, European Championships and the Commonwealth Games. He was the first European athlete to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m and held the UK records in athletics, British record in the event for close to 30 years. He is a former world indoor record holder over 200 metres, and a former List of European records in athletics, European record holder in the 60 metres, 100 m and 4 × 100 metres relay. IAAF World Indoor Championships In Athletics
The World Athletics Indoor Championships are a biennial indoor track and field competition served as the global championship for that version of the sport. Organised by the World Athletics, the competition was inaugurated as the ''World Indoor Games'' in 1985 in Paris, France and were subsequently renamed to IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1987. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. They have been held every two years except for when they were held in consecutive years 2003 and 2004 to facilitate the need for them to be held in alternate years to the outdoor World Athletics Championships in the future, and in 2024, 2025, and 2026. The Championships due to be held in China in 2020 were postponed because of the COVID pandemic, as were the attempted running of the China edition in then 2021 and 2023, eventually being scheduled for 2025.
