Rural Municipality Of Taché
Taché () is a rural municipality in Manitoba, Canada, incorporated in 1880. Named after the Bishop Taché (one of the first bishops in Manitoba), it is located to the south-east of Winnipeg, stretching from the Red River Floodway in the west to the beginning of the Canadian Shield in the east. Trees line the Seine River as it meanders through the centre of the municipality and acts as an oasis of oak and elm trees in the primarily agricultural fields of the area. Lorette and Landmark are the main residential and commercial hubs of the municipality with Ste-Genevieve, Dufresne, Ross, and Linden as other noteworthy communities. In 1998 a new high school, Collège Lorette Collegiate, was completed in the town of Lorette. Provincial Road 210 (PR 210) is a provincial road in the Eastman Region of southeastern Manitoba, Canada. It serves to connect the towns and communities of Woodridge, Marchand, La Broquerie, Ste. Anne, Landmark, Linden, Île-des-Chênes, and St, Adolphe with PTH 12 (MOM's Way), PTH 59, and PTH 75 (Lord Selkirk Highway). Landmark, originally called Prairie Rose, is a local urban district in the Rural Municipality of Taché, Manitoba, Canada, located about 30 km (18.6 mi) southeast of the provincial capital, Winnipeg. Landmark's population as of the 2021 census was 1,326. The community lies on the longitudinal centre of Canada. History Although at least four homesteads were established in about 1907, much of the area was barren until just after World War I. It was at this time that a number of Mennonite families living in the neighbouring East Reserve faced shortages of land for agricultural expansion.
