Lim Eng Beng
Lim Eng Beng (; November 10, 1951 – December 21, 2015) was a Filipino basketball player who spent twelve seasons in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975-1986. Early life Lim was born and raised in Tondo, Manila from an impoverished family. When he was 5 or 6 years old, his family stayed in an informal settlement. It was around this time where the young Lim would use his passion in basketball as a means to climb out of hardship and support his family. Collegiate career Lim played for the De La Salle Green Archers of "Man In White" Coach Valentin Eduque from 1971 to 1974 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). In his rookie year, the Green Archers, led by himself and Mike Bilbao, won the 1971 NCAA men's basketball championship which was De La Salle's first NCAA title in 15 years. The 50 Greatest Players in PBA History is a list of players chosen across three separate occasions in 2000, 2015, and 2025 to honor the 25th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), respectively, with the list expanding for each milestone. The first set, known as the 25 Greatest Players, was awarded when the league celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2000. The NCAA basketball championships are the basketball championships of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). There are two tournaments, usually held at the same time, the seniors' tournament for male collegiate students, and the juniors' tournament for male senior high school students. Freddie Hubalde
Alfredo Hubalde (born September 14, 1953), also known as Freddie Hubalde, is a retired Filipino professional basketball player in the PBA. Collegiate career Hubalde played college ball for the Mapúa Institute of Technology, before eventually moving on to play professional basketball in the PBA. He also has the distinction of being one of the few NCAA high school players playing for the senior team during his stay with Mapua. Professional career Hubalde started his PBA career with the Crispa Redmanizers, and was part of two Crispa grand slam teams in 1976 and 1983.
