Liliána Szilágyi
Liliána Szilágyi (born 19 November 1996) is a Hungarian swimmer, who specialized in the butterfly events. Career She collected two medals (gold and silver) in the 100 and 200 m butterfly at the 2012 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Szilagyi is a member of Kőbánya Swimming Club in Budapest, and is coached and trained by Gyorgyi Turi. She is also the daughter of three-time Olympian and former freestyle swimmer Zoltán Szilágyi (1988, 1992, and 2000). Szilagyi qualified for the women's 100 m butterfly at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, by completing the event more quickly than the FINA B-standard entry time of 59.07 seconds from the European Championships in Debrecen. Butterfly Swimming
The butterfly (shortened to fly) is a List of swimming styles, swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arms moving symmetrically, accompanied by the butterfly kick (also known as the "dolphin kick") along with the movement of the hips and chest. It is the newest swimming (sport), swimming style swum in competition, first swum in the early 1930s and originating out of the breaststroke. Speed and ergonomics The butterfly stroke boasts a higher peak velocity than the front crawl, owing to the synchronous propulsion generated by the simultaneous pull/push of both arms and legs. However, due to the pronounced drop in speed during the recovery phase, it is marginally slower than the front crawl, especially over extended distances. 2011 European Junior Swimming Championships
The 2011 European Junior Swimming Championships were held from 6–10 July 2011 in Belgrade, Serbia. The Championships were organized by Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN), the European Swimming League, and were held in a 50-meter pool. Per LEN rules, competitors were aged 15 or 16 for girls and 17 or 18 for boys. Otylia Jędrzejczak
Otylia Jędrzejczak (; born 13 December 1983) is a Polish swimming (sport), swimmer. She was the Olympic champion from 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Athens in the 200 metre butterfly stroke, butterfly. She finished 4th in this event in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and also swam at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. In Athens 2004 she also silvered in Swimming at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's 400 metre freestyle, 400 m freestyle and Swimming at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 metre butterfly, 100 m butterfly. Three times she broke the World record progression 200 metres butterfly, world record in the women's 200 m butterfly (once in the 25-metre pool). Hannah Jane Arnett Wilson (; born 10 March 1989) is a Hong Kong retired amateur swimming (sport), swimmer. She is a three-time Olympic swimmer for Hong Kong, having swum at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She has won two career Universiade gold medals. As of July 11, 2009, Wilson currently holds 10 Hong Kong records and two Universiade records in swimming. 2012 European Aquatics Championships
The 2012 European Aquatics Championships were held from 14 to 27 May 2012 in Debrecen, Hungary and Eindhoven, Netherlands. The 2012 European Swimming Championships were to take place in Antwerp, Belgium, but were reallocated to the City of Debrecen and were held on the same dates as previously planned, from 21 to 27 May. The Diving Championships were held in Eindhoven from 15 to 20 May. The Synchronised Swimming discipline, originally intended to take place in Antwerp, have also been reallocated, with its continental titles having been contested in Eindhoven. Originally, the Championships had been awarded to Vienna, but later they backed out due to the Great Recession.
