Ligue De Baseball Junior Élite Du Québec
The Quebec Junior Elite Baseball League (QJEBL; French: ''Ligue de baseball junior élite Québec'', LBJEQ) is the top-level amateur summer baseball league in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is composed entirely of junior elite players - the best baseball players in the province between 16 and 21 years of age. History The league began as the Ligue de Baseball Royale junior, founded in 1948 by Gérard Thibault. In 1995 the league, now known as the Ligue de baseball Montréal Junior Élite merged with the eastern Quebec based Ligue Junior Majeure du Québec. Two years later the league assumed its current name. Amedée Roy Stadium () is a baseball stadium in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. It serves as the home ballpark of an amateur baseball team, the Sherbrooke Expos, and has hosted baseball games during events such as the 2002 World Junior Baseball Championship and the 2013 Canada Games. History The current stadium is the third to be known Stade Amedée-Roy. The first Stade Amedée-Roy was constructed in 1938. It burned down in September 1951, hours after the Sherbrooke Athletics completed their season by winning the league pennant. The city did not host a baseball team in 1952, while the stadium was rebuilt. The second Stade Amedée-Roy was first used by the Sherbrooke Indians, an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, from 1953 to 1955. Stade Quillorama is a baseball stadium in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home of the Trois-Rivières Aigles of the Frontier League (FL). The ballpark has a seating capacity of 4,000 people, and a standing room which can accommodate an additional 500 fans. History The stadium was built in 1938. It was previously the home of the original Trois-Rivières Aigles, operating in the Eastern League from 1971 to 1977. It was then the home of the Trois-Rivières Saints of the Canadian Baseball League in 2003. In 1971, a major junior baseball team started playing at Stade Municipal de Trois-Rivières. It is located North Shore (Laval), north of the city on the lower end of the L'Assomption River, and on the Saint Lawrence River.
