''Ligo na Ü, Lapit na Me'' (English title: ''Star-Crossed Love''; ) is a 2011 Philippine romantic comedy, romantic-sex comedy film based on Eros S. Atalia's 2009 novel of the same name. The film was directed by Erick C. Salud (in his feature-length directorial debut) and its film adaptation, adapted screenplay was written by Jerry B. Gracio. The storyline revolves on a casual sexual relationship between two college students, Intoy (Edgar Allan Guzman) and his classmate Jenny (Mercedes Cabral). As an Independent film, independent production, the film was an official entry to the 7th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Film, while Edgar Allan Guzman was awarded Best Actor. Eros S. Atalia is a Filipino author, professor and journalist from Cavite City, Philippines who wrote several books including the Palanca Awards, Palanca Award-winning 'Tatlong Gabi, Tatlong Araw' (lit. Three Nights, Three Days) in 2013 and ''Ang Ikatlong Anti-Kristo''' (lit. The Third Antichrist) in 2017. His book 'Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me' (published in 2009) was Ligo na Ü, Lapit na Me, adapted into film in 2011. He is a faculty member at De La Salle University Manila, and was a resident at the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa. In the film industry, an option agreement is a contract that "rents" the rights to a source material to a potential film producer. It grants the film producer the exclusive option to purchase rights to the source material if they live up to the terms of the contract and make a film (or series) from it. This is known as optioning the source material. Some examples of producers are film studios, production companies or an individual.
