Lierneux (; ) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Lierneux had a total population of 3,367. The total area is 92.08 km2 which gives a population density of 37 inhabitants per km2. Lierneux is known for its psychiatric hospital CHS l'Accueil. The municipality consists of the following districts: Arbrefontaine, and Bra, and Lierneux. Vielsalm (; ) is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality of Wallonia located in the Luxembourg (Belgium), province of Luxembourg, Belgium. The town is part of the Arrondissement of Bastogne. It is the place of origin of the Salm (state), House of Salm. On 1 January 2018 the municipality had 7,821 inhabitants. The total area is 139.76 km2, giving a population density of 56 inhabitants per km2. Etymology The village, like Salmchâteau, takes its name from the Salm (Amblève), River Salm. The region is also called the Val de Salm, and Salm region. The word "Salm" comes from the Celtic ''salwa'', meaning ''black'' or ''blurred''. Vielsalm means literally "Old Salm" because, at some point, the Lord moved his castle which became the new town centre.
