Liberty Township is a township in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,038 at the 2020 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 65.1 square miles (168.7 km2), of which 65.1 square miles (168.6 km2) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.1 km2) (0.08%) is water. Liberty Township is bordered by Bloss and Hamilton Townships to the north, Union Township to the east, Lycoming County to the south and Morris Township to the west. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 868 people, 345 households, and 257 families residing in the township. The population density was 13.3 people per square mile (5.1/km2). Tioga State Forest
Tioga State Forest is a Pennsylvania State Forest in District #16, in the Allegheny Plateau region within Tioga County, Pennsylvania. The main offices are located in Wellsboro in Tioga County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The state forest was named for the Tioga tribe of the Seneca, a Native American people, whose homeland was in the region. The Seneca language word "Tioga" means 'the meeting of two rivers' in English. Nauvoo is an unincorporated community in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. History Nauvoo was founded in 1844 by the Mormon Nauvoo on account of the Mormon elder D.W. Canfield, who resided there. Pennsylvania Route 414 (PA 414) is a state highway located in Lycoming, Tioga, and Bradford counties in Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at PA 44 in Waterville. The eastern terminus is at US 220 in Monroe. The first leg of the highway, between its intersection with PA 44 in Waterville and Blackwell (crossing Pine Creek and Pine Creek Rail Trail the final time) is very narrow and rugged.
