Liberal Democratic Party (Malaysia)
The Liberal Democratic Party or well known as Liberal Democratic Party of Sabah (; abbrev: LDP, or LDP Sabah) is a Sabahan-based local political party founded in the town of Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia by Hiew Min Kong in 1989. This party is a major component of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) since April 2023. The party is considered a minor political party in Malaysia, having its base mainly in Sabah. It was allocated one parliamentary seat under the Barisan Nasional (BN) political alliance, the Sandakan seat. The seat, which was won by the party's then president Liew Vui Keong in the 2008 general election, was lost in the 2013 general election to a candidate from the Democratic Action Party (DAP). Liberal Democratic Party Of Transnistria
The Liberal Democratic Party of Transnistria (, , ) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in the breakaway state of Transnistria, recognized as part of Moldova. It was formed on 1 August 2006 by followers of Vladimir Zhirinovsky and is affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. The party leader is Transnistrian politician Valerly Kulakli. The Liberal Party () is a social liberal political party in Sudan. History The party was formed through the merger of the Sudan Liberal Party, the Sudanese Democratic Movement, the Movement of New Democratic Forces (HAQ) and the United Leadership and the Sudanese Democratic Party on 4 September 2008. It operated under the name United Democratic Liberal Party, till the first convention of the party in September 2010, where its name has changed to Liberal Democratic Party. On 1 August 2016 the party changed its name to the Liberal Party of Sudan. The Liberal Democratic Party ( ''Libaral Pakshaya''; ), formerly known as the Liberal Party is a political party in Sri Lanka which initially began as a think-tank called the Council for Liberal Democracy. The party was founded in 1981 by Dr. Chanaka Amaratunga, a longstanding member of the United National Party, which was at the time the ruling party of Sri Lanka. The CLD broke up with the UNP in 1982 over the 1982 referendum, which postponed parliamentary elections for six years. After four years of attempts to promote liberal thinking in Sri Lanka, in particular with regard to constitutional reforms that would promote devolution along with separation and reduction of powers at the center, Dr Amaratunga and several of his associates eventually relaunched the CLD as the Liberal Party in February 1987. Liberal Democracy Of Slovenia
Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (, LDS) is a social-liberal political party in Slovenia. Between 1992 and 2004, it (and its main predecessor, the Liberal Democratic Party) was the largest (and ruling) party in the country. In the 2011 Slovenian parliamentary election, it failed to win entry to the Slovenian National Assembly. The party was a member of the Liberal International and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. The LDS dominated Slovenian politics during the first decade following independence. The Liberal Democratic Party (, abbr. LDP) is a liberal political party in Serbia. It is led by Čedomir Jovanović. History The Liberal Democratic Party was founded on 5 November 2005 by former members of the Democratic Party, led by Čedomir Jovanović, who were expelled in a party purge in 2004. Jovanović had become critical of the new direction of the Democratic Party and its newly elected president, Boris Tadić. The Liberal Democratic Party ( Macedonian: Либерално-демократска партија, ''Liberalno-demokratska partija'') is a social-liberal political party in North Macedonia. The Liberal Democratic Party was launched in April 1997 as a merger between the Liberal Party and the Democratic Party. The first leader of the party was Petar Goshev from the Democrats, who was also the last president of the League of Communists of Macedonia.
