Lever, Janet
Janet Lever (born December 5, 1946) is an American sociologist and professor emerita of sociology at California State University, Los Angeles. She is recognized for her research on sex, intimate relationships, gender, and sport. Education Lever earned her BA summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis (1968) and her Ph.D. in sociology from Yale University (1974). While in graduate school, she coauthored with Pepper Schwartz the 1971 book ''Women at Yale'', documenting the historic first year of undergraduate coeducation at that university.
