Lev! (Swedish for ''Live!'') is a long glass artwork in the pedestrian and bicycle tunnel between the Railway Station Square in central Umeå and Haga District in Sweden Sweden, formally the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Nordic countries, Nordic country located on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe. Umeå ( , , , locally ; ; ; ; ) is a city in northeast Sweden. It is the seat of Umeå Municipality and the capital of Västerbotten County. Situated on the Ume River, Umeå is the largest Urban areas in Sweden, locality in Norrland and the thirteenth largest in Sweden, with a wider municipal population of 132,235 inhabitants in the beginning of 2023. Haga, Umeå
Haga is a residential area in Umeå, Sweden, immediately north of the centre and Umeå Central Station, the railroad passing Umeå. History Haga is one of the oldest residential areas in Umeå, established in the late 19th century. From being an area sparsely populated by a few farmers, the relocation of the Västerbotten Regiment to Umeå (1893), and the first link to the national railroad network (1896), raised the need for central housing. Railroad workers and officer (armed forces), officers began to move into what then was perceived as Umeå's first suburb. As Umeå has grown, the 21st century Haga is one of the most central districts, with a variety of (mostly small) villas, terraced houses, town houses, a few tower blocks, and several parks. Umeå Central Station
Umeå Central Station (Swedish: ''Umeå centralstation'' or ''Umeå C'') is a railway station in Umeå, Sweden. The station was the sole station serving Umeå until the opening of Umeå East Station in 2010. Renovation of Central station was completed the following year. History The station was designed by architect Folke Zettervall and built 1895–96. In 2001, it was declared a listed building. With the construction of the Bothnia Line, Umeå Central Station was rebuilt from July 2010 until November 2012, with a new pedestrian and bicycle tunnel built under the tracks. A new 175 metre long platform was built on the north ( Haga) side of the station and the existing platform on the south (city centre) side of the station was extended to 455 meters. Sara Lidman
Sara Adéla Lidman (30December 192317June 2004) was a Swedish writer. Early life Born in Missenträsk, a village in present Skellefteå Municipality, Lidman was raised in the Västerbotten region of northern Sweden. She studied at the University of Uppsala, where her studies were interrupted when she contracted tuberculosis. She achieved her first great success with the novel (''The Tar Still''). In this work and in her second novel (The Cloudberry Field), she explores themes of alienation and isolation. Her early novels are focused on the difficult conditions facing poor farmers in the northern Swedish province of Västerbotten during the nineteenth century. Career Sara Lidman is arguably one of the most important writers of the Swedish language in the twentieth century. Glass is an amorphous ( non-crystalline) solid.
