Leutenbach, Baden-Württemberg
Leutenbach is a municipality in the Rems-Murr district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located 15 km east of Ludwigsburg, and 20 km northeast of Stuttgart. The association football, footballer Andreas Hinkel, formerly VfB Stuttgart, now Celtic F.C., and also a player for the Germany national football team, Germany national team, was born in Backnang, but grew up in Leutenbach. Spree killer Tim Kretschmer grew up and lived in Leutenbach. Economy and infrastructure The Stuttgart S-Bahn connects the municipality with Stuttgart. Transportation Nellmersbach is a breakpoint at the Waiblingen-Schwäbisch Hall railway. The line S3 (Backnang-Stuttgart Airport ) that connects Nellmersbach in 15- to 30-minute intervals with the state capital Stuttgart runs on this route. Rems-Murr
Rems-Murr is a (district) in the middle of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Heilbronn, Schwäbisch Hall, Ostalbkreis, Göppingen, Esslingen, the district-free city Stuttgart and the district Ludwigsburg. History The district was created in 1973 when Waiblingen was merged with most of the Backnang district and a few municipalities from the district Schwäbisch Gmünd. Geography The largest part of the district is located in the Swabian-Franconian Forest (''Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald''), of which the Mainhardt Forest forms a part. The two rivers Rems and Murr gave the district its name. Coat of arms The coat of arms shows a deer antler in the middle, the symbol of the former state of Württemberg. Backnang
Backnang (; ) is a town in Germany in the Bundesland (Germany), Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg, roughly northeast of Stuttgart. Its population has increased greatly over the past century, from 7,650 in 1900 to 37,957 in 2022. Backnang was ceded to Württemberg by the Grand Duchy of Baden, Baden (Zähringer family) in 1325. Backnang has been known as ''Gerberstadt'' due to several Tanning (leather), tanneries and leather factory, factories, and wool and Textile manufacturing, cloth mills that dominated Backnang's industries. Stuttgart S-Bahn
The Stuttgart S-Bahn is a suburban railway system (S-Bahn) serving the Stuttgart Region, an urban agglomeration of around 2.7 million people, consisting of the city of Stuttgart and the adjacent districts of Esslingen, Böblingen, Ludwigsburg and Rems-Murr-Kreis. Tim Kretschmer
The Winnenden school shooting occurred on the morning of 11 March 2009 at the Albertville-Realschule, a secondary school in Winnenden, southwestern Germany, followed by a shootout at a car dealership in nearby Wendlingen. The shooting spree resulted in 16 deaths, including the suicide of the perpetrator, 17-year-old Tim Kretschmer, who had graduated from the school a year earlier. Another nine people were injured during the incident.
