Letov Š-10
The Letov Š-10 was a biplane trainer aircraft produced in the 1920s by the Czechoslovak company Letov Kbely. It was a licensed copy of the German design Hansa-Brandenburg B.I and could hold 2 people. The Š-10 served in the Czechoslovak Air Force and later were acquired by aeroclubs and organizations of the Masaryk Aviation League (). Origin and development The Letov Š-10 was a licensed copy of the Hansa-Brandenburg B.I series 76, which is widely used by the Austro-Hungarian Aviation Troops. This type of plane was among the most numerous aircraft found in Czechoslovakia after or shortly after independence, and later it was decided to further increase the number of aircraft produced via domestic production. Aero Vodochody created the Aero Ae-10, and in 1922 the production of 51 Š-10s was started at the Letov factory. Letov Kbely
Letov is an aircraft company located in Letňany district of Prague, Czech Republic. It is the oldest aircraft company in the region. History Letov was founded in 1918 by the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defense to repair World War I trophy planes. The first indigenous aircraft, the Letov Š-1, was designed and built in 1920, and some 50 aircraft types were built by 1939. During World War II the factory served as repair shop for the German Luftwaffe. Production lines were also set up during World War II for combat versions of the Junkers Ju 290, Ju 290 aircraft, commencing with the Ju 290 A-2, which carried a search radar for its patrol role. The Czechoslovak Air Force (''Československé letectvo'') or the Czechoslovak Army Air Force (''Československé vojenské letectvo'') was the air force branch of the Czechoslovak Army formed in October 1918. Hansa und Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke (more usually just Hansa-Brandenburg) was a German aircraft manufacturing company that operated during World War I. It was created in May 1914 by the purchase of ''Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke'' by Camillo Castiglioni, who relocated the factory from Liebau to Brandenburg an der Havel. Letov Š-18
The Letov Š-18 was a Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak single-engined, two-seat biplane trainer. It was designed by Alois Šmolík at Letov Kbely. The Š-18 first flew in 1925 in aviation, 1925. The aircraft was quite successful and sold well, both to private pilots and to flying clubs. Apart from the basic variant, there was also still the type Š-118, which was equipped with a Walter NZ 85 engine (85 hp, 63 KW). Some machines were exported to Bulgaria. The Czechoslovakian Air Force used the type 1925 to 1930 as a beginner trainer aircraft. Praga E-39/BH-39 was a Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak trainer aircraft. History This aircraft was designed by Pavel Beneš and Miroslav Hajn, engineers at the Czech aviation company ČKD-Praga in 1931. It flew for the first time in June of that year.
